ticker symbol mismatch
I have stock in Travelers Class A in a Schwab account. When I download my
account info from Schwab into Microsoft Money, I get Schwab's ticker symbol
for this, TAPA. But Microsoft's ticker symbol is TAP.A. (Note the period
in front of the "A".) So, there's a mismatch when I update prices with
Money's "update internet information" Any suggestions?

My wife and I are new to Money (using Money 2002). We have set up a couple
of bank accounts (personal and business) but when we go to Calendar, it
shows the bills and deposits on our personal account. How do we switch it

Upgrading 2002 to 2004?
I am considering upgrading from Money 2002 to 2004 - will the transition

For MSN Bill Pay through Money 2004 is there a way to show the payment date
instead of payment sent date? I know you can do this for charges (show

Current Balance, Ending Balance
I picked up MSMoney 2004 and installed on my system. I'm
leaving
Quicken 200 behind. it was an okay package, but I didn't
like some of
the logic involved in the interface. MSMoney did a
spectacular job of
converting my Qdata file. no discrepancies at all.
My one big complaint, though, is I cannot view my current
balance and
ending balance for all my accounts in my Favorites
listing. I pay
ahead in my check register due to scheduled online
payments. So, my
balance today is going to be different than my balance
next week. At
least Quicken 2000 showed me this information side by
side. Is there
any way I can do this in MSMoney 2004? Is there any way to
set my home

Mortgage Wizard Interest Calculations.
On setting up a mortgage account using the mortage wizard,
the program insists on calculating interest on a monthly
basis, rather than the daily basis by which most banks
operate. I can find no way to over-ride this manually.
I am still using Money 2001 but it appears to be the same
in later versions.

Money 2003
Having problems with automatic import of OFX files from my
Credit Union "UNFCU". I can manually import the file,
however, there use to be a time whenever I downloaded the
OFX file, MS Money would start or if already open, import
the downloaded file automatically. Now I have to save it
then import it.
I know that there is a way for me to export from my online
bank and have that file automatically imported into Money.

Can the date on the POCKET version be amended to the UK
date format dd/mm/yy?

Pre-2004 Money Is Probably Dead
For those of you waiting for MSFT to "fix" the problem it
has created with Money 2002, you are likely out of luck.
99% of Money 2002 users got it as a "FREE DEMO VERSION"
which came with their computers.
It is highly unlikely that MSFT plans to offer any way to
reactivate the product, since they shut it down. Do you
REALLY think this was an accident? Not.
My adivice...buy Quicken. Or anything else that doesn't
come from MSFT. I found a truly free (freeware) product
called Ace Money Lite that I plan to use. Of course I only
need checkbook record and statement balancing features.
For those of you who have complicated financial needs
Quicken is still probably the best choice.

Before Changing to Quicken
We have all shared a great deal of frustration with
Microsoft and Money. And I'll have to admit I haven't
seen any help from Microsoft. Most of the help comes
from other users. But, Quicken has its own set of
problems. Years ago I switched from Quicken to Money
because Intuit left me "high and dry" without support.
It is hard to tell how much problems Quicken has. Intuit
doesn't provide a bulletin board for users to complain
on. I don't like what Microsoft has done to us, but my
experience with Intuit wasn't any better.

Have been using Money 2002 and just got a laptop with
2004 on it. In 2002 it will update the bank accounts by
downloading them with the update feature but it doesn't
work in 2004. It thinks that the bank doesn't support

Compatibility Issue
I had MicroSoft Money 2002 installed on another HD using WindowsXP Home
Edition for an OS. It worked splendidly.
How, I have changed HD's on the same machine, using the same OS, and I
have to go through the Compatibility Wizard to get it to work. Why is
that? What can I do to get it to open from the Start menu without
having to use the compatibility wizard?

Hi,
I am a Money user since 2001. I used Money 2000, and now
I am trying to use Money 2003. I installed the M2000
backup without problems.
However, I need help with some issues
- I use forms to enter my transactions. In my M2000, in
the field "Number" I had 2 options: "Next check number"
and "Print this check". In my new M2003, in the first
option appears this: "<blank>". How do I change to allow
the "Next check number" option?
- How can I change the numbers' format and the date's
format? (example from dd-mm-yyyy to dd-mmm-yyyy)

Current Balance Problems
To whomever can help a guy out...
Current Version: MS Money Premium 2004 (V12, update 1)
First problem..just happened tonight. When I am in one of
my checking accounts, it shows the accurate balance that
matches up with the online bank version. However when I
switch to 'Account List' view; the balance shown for this
account is off by almost $500... All other accounts are
fine. Just this one.
Second problem..been around for awhile..The 'Downloaded
Balance' in the upper left hand corner reflects the
balance that was downloaded on 6-1-2003 and has never
updated or changed since that date. Can someone help
to 'reset' that or remove it altogether?
I have tried both the quick repair and the standard
repair options to no avial.
Any help and or guidance is much appreciated.

With the problem about not being able to open money 2002,
can Microsoft offer those of us without disks some kind of
ftp download of the .msi file so that we can re-install
without having to go and purchase new disks? At least for
now? This is a really big problem and it has caused chaos
to those of us that use it for organizing our finances.

Downloaded statements do not appear in account
Hi!
I have Money 2003 installed on my Compaq Presario. This
came pre-loaded. When I download a bank statement on to
my computer and then double click it, money asks which
account to update. On assigning the account the accounts
window shows x number of transactions pending. However,
on opening the account, I cannot see the new
transactions. I looked at the knowledge base site Q327899
and it advised to reinstall Money since it is likely to
be a corrupted file. However, since my Money program came
pre-loaded I dont know how to go about this. Can you
please guide me or show me another way to rectify the
situation?

I have been a longtime Quicken User and have recently
changed to MS Money 2004 (before it came bundled with TaxCut).
I find Money much easier to work with and like it very much.
In the past I have always used Turbo Tax and I'm thinking
of switching to Tax Cut this time.
Is there much difference in those products? The state tax
program is not needed.

Money 2002 Startup Problem
I have experienced the recent problem with Money 2002 not starting up. I have reinstalled into a new directory and it now starts.
However, my existing data file appears to be locked. I cannot open it with Money. I also cannot move it, copy it, or rename it. I get an "access denied: make sure the disk is not full and the file is not currently in use" message

2004 Small Business how?
I have a small business I run out of my home (sole
proprietor). I recently purchased MS Money 2004 Small
Business and am considering whether to integrate our
existing MS Money 2002 Standard family finances file with
my business.
However, I am concerned about keeping the information
separated or separate it on demand when I need to run
business related reports and family finance reports.
Can this be done? I can't find anything so far about this
topic on the MS sites or support.
If reporting can be done (like everything in one Money
file, but I can view financials and run reports on

Money 2004 Premium crashes when clicking on Portfolio
Whenever I try to enter my portfolio, Money 2004 crashes
with a "send info to Microsoft"/Dr. Watson type error.
It was working fine several days ago, the last time I
tried to get in. A standard file repair had no effect.
I did a search and found posts from others who have had
this problem, but it looks like all of them were synching
their data with the web and turning synching off fixed it
for them. I, however, am not and have never synched in
this fashion.
So far I have tried a reinstall of Money 2004, quick and
standard file repairs, and deleting the past week's worth
of transactions from my investment accounts (through the
account register, which I can access, unlike the
portfolio view), all to no avail.
Does anyone have any ideas (other than restoring my
backup from *October*, the most recent that doesn't have
the same issue, and then spending 12 hours reentering

Catagory for Receiving Payment on Invoice
I have Money Business and Personal - I believe 2000 -
every time I receive a payment for an invoice, it places
it is advertising rather than Sales Income. How do I

Money Invest account "Cash" part
I set up an account for my Vanguard mutual fund in Money 2002. In the mutual
fund I have a Vanguard Money Market fund and an Index 500 fund. When I
import the transactions into Money, it always consider the Money Market fund
to be an "Investment" while in reality it is the equivalent "cash" portion
of the Vanguard mutual fund.
Is there a way I can tell Money to take Money Market fund transactions into
"Cash" portion of the Vanguard fund?

reporting uninvoiced time items?
I saw way back in 2000 someone asking about this, with no answer.
I would like to run a report showing uninvoiced time items by
customer, or at least grab the data and export to Excel. But I see no
way to do it.

to change it to a cash basis and I can't seem to figure out how to do this.
