    - US Data conversion to UK Money Just recently moved to the UK from the US and was told by microsoft that I need to use the UK version of Microsoft money to be compatible with the UK cheques. When I installed the UK version it could not read my US files because it said that the "language was incompatible".     - missing password/2004 installation problems Hi - I was on the phone with tech support today for 75 minutes. I believe I have a bad disk (errors with disk on 2 computers). 2004 wipped out my 2000 installation and when I tried to restore my 2000 installation it asked for a password.     - What about routing numbers when printing checks I had bought a pack of versacheck refills, which are compatable with money, and was looking forward to printing my checks at home. Well after setup, i went to print a few checks. The checks orinted fine and within margins, but i notice that there arent any routing numbers, my name or address, or anything on it to make this a valid and redeemable check.     - Sound Hi! I recently installed Money 2002 Deluxe on a Windows XP Pro computer. Obviously, it was installed with administrator privileges, and when I run it either with an administrator account or using Runas- in a user account, the sounds work fine. If I run it as a limited user, I have no sound. The options for "Program events" are not even listed under the Sounds tab in Options in this mode.     - cost basis calculations Help, please, from any financial experts!!! Cost basis, as you know, is a fancy term that simply describes AFTER TAX contributions to a retirement account; that is, the cost basis is the amount of money (contributions to a fund) that has already been taxed. Well, how can I insert my 401(k) contributions on a pre- tax basis? It seems Money automatically assumes that I am making these contributions after taxes, when in fact it comes right out of my check before taxes. Thanks!     - M Money Express 2002 I've had some recent problems with my internet connection on XP. I now have connection, but as soon as I logon, a popup for windows installer appears trying to load money. It stops before completion and I get an error msg which states I need to close microsoft express .... but its not running?! Also when I logon XP, in the lower left is a tab 'HOTKEY KEYBOARD'. What is this? Would this have something to do why I can't logoff? When I am logged in I have to switch users and actually restart to close down. Everyone else can log out directly.     - Cash Flow Add Item With Money 2004, has anyone been able to get the "add item" feature in the cash flow analysis to work? It walks you through the steps but nothing ever shows up.     - Budget Report In order to get the budget to function the way I want to see things reported, I have organized my categories into budget groups - everything looks just how I want it when I look at the budget in edit mode. However, when I want to print my monthly budget report, I must choose Budget by Category or Budget by Budget Group. The Budget by Budget group is too summarized - is there a way to print the Budget by Budget Group Report and include the categories within each Budget Group (for example, I have a budget group called Monthly Bills - is there a way to print the categories such as telephone, electric, gas, etc... on the report an organize the report data by budget group (so all Monthly Bills would appear together under the same budget group)?     - Money 2004 Budget feature I'm trying to setup a budget. I have a category called "Bills: Telephone". Under this category is a sub- category called Qwest Communications - this is my actual phone bill. The enter budget expenses subtotal reflects my monthly expense correctly. However, when I finish my budget and "Review my current budget status", I see the expense associated with my Qwest bill on the "actual" column, but I don't see the Qwest bill represented in the "Budgeted" column. The result is that it appears as though I have overspent. I can correct this problem by editing my budget and entering my estimated Qwest bill under the sub- category "Other Expenses for Bills:Telephone". So, now the bill is counted twice on this screen as the sub- category total for Bills:Telephone now includes both the actual bill and the estimated budget amount. At the bottom the Monthly Expenses is also increased by my estimated budget amount. On this screen my monthly expenses read $9,000+ because I have made all of these adjustments. On the "Review my budget..." page, my budgeted expenses are set at just over $6,000 (the correct value). Not sure if i'm confused or this is a bug.     - Money 2003 account download - same data again and again I have Money 2003 and have found when I download account data, it sometimes downloads duplicate data. For example, I deposited two paychecks into my account last week (Was on vacation.) Since my deposit was for DOUBLE the usual amount, I change the deposit amount to the normal amount of my single paycheck so the correct deductions would be shown in Money. I need did a manual paycheck in money, again, for the correct deductions. Now, when the ORIGINAL deposit worth twice the money showed up, I changed the numbers, then accepted. When I downloaded my account info today, I received the same transaction again from last week, showing the same amount of money. This has happened on several occasions to me.     - Error Signature Hello: I downloaded the trial version of "Microsoft Money 2004" and wanted to give it a try before I could decide whether to buy the product. After installing the software successfully, however, I kept encountering the error "Error Signature". The program then closed automatically, and restarted, and crashed again, and restarted. Is this a known bug? Or is there something wrong with my computer? What should I do?? Here is another question: I noticed that some features are related to online bank accounts, credit card services, or bill handlings. Will these features be affected if I don't live in US?     - Discrepant Balances - Money2003 The balances of all my accounts, forecast, etc. shown in the "My Money Home Page" (that appears when I first open Money) and also the "current" and "after" balances of my Bill & Deposits schedule are shown as several trillion $ (negative). Nevertheless, when I open my checking account or any of my credit card accounts, the balance looks normal. This problem began when I installed Money2003 in my new computer (the old one broke) and used my backup floppy to restore the files. I tried removing and reinstalling Money, but the problem persists.     - invoice doesn't show partial payments; correct amt due I am making an invoice for a customer. The original balance was $100. They made a partial payment of $25, and I'm sending them a second invoice to reflect the balance due to be $75.00 When I apply the $25 credit, the "report" shows correctly, $25 has been paid, and $75 is due. But the invoice remains the same. No line item showing $25 paid. How can I show on the invoice, the original amount due, a line item showing $25 credited, and the new total due to be $75?     - Money Bug 03/04: Stock Changes it's name but Maoney wont let that I have seen this in Money 2003 and now 2004. A company, such as DELL changes it's name but not is it symbol. When I download transactions Money asks if the new name is the same investment as the old name (obviously it is as they have the same symbol). I say yes it is the same. Money asks "Are You Sure Dell Computers is the same as Dell Inc". Regardless of how I answer this confirm It asks the first question again, and again and again and again until I admit that Dell Inc is NOT Dell Computer. Only then can I continue the reconcile.     - What is wrong with updating securities? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE UPDATE SECURITIES FUNCTION? Almost every day it hangs at least once - you click on update, and it says updating securities, and it just sits there forever. I've let it sit 1/2 hour or more and it still didn't come back. End up having to kill it via Task Manager and then start over again. And then usually it will download without a problem!! This occured occasionally in Money 2003, but in 2004 it is 10x worse! I don't know if having to kill money via task manager will screw up my money data file in the long run, but it is getting really aggrevating. Makes me want to think about switching to Quicken (yuk!).     - XP/ME incompatability I'm using an XP OS on my computer at the farm office and an ME OS on my computer at home. Both have Money 2003 installed. I'd like to be able to work on my money files at both locations. Here is my proceedure. I've entered data and logged it to backup on the XP based machine. I've restored that file on the ME based machine. I can no longer enter data on the ME based machine. Going the other way seemed to work fine. I'm assuming there's something about the XP generated files that ME can't manipulate. Is there a cure for this, short of changing my OS on the ME machine? Thanks!     - life planner I started setting up the life planner, but it doesn't show my IRAs. I add them while in the planner and then it adds it to the ivestment account again. Bummer.     - Credit Card Update problems I have had a problem with M 2004 reconciling transactions automatically when updating my credit card account after using the update feature. I have gone into Tools/Options/Online Services and checked to be sure the "Automatically mark accepted transactions as reconciled" box is unchecked. Prior to this, I updated the account, found all my transactions reconciled, and manually cleared the "C" column to un-reconciled on the transactions which should not have been marked as reconciled. After which, I deleted one transaction, (as a test), to see if the credit card will update my account in Money to re-download the missing transaction and it does not. Now as a result my balance on the left side of the screen does not match the balance on the bottom if the register page. That is until I manually enter the missing transaction.     - best online billpay option I'm getting ready to jump back into the online bill payment waters after being burned by a hard drive crash a couple of years ago? What's the best option? BankOne says I get free unlimited online bill payment. I assume that this requires use of their web-based bill payment system. I found this option far less desireable than entering all the bill payment info (payee,amount, budget category, etc.) in Money, and uploading the payment instructions. This later option gave me a complete picture of my finances day-to-day, was faster/more elegant, allowed my to allocate payments to budget categories up front, and provided an effcient method to balance my checking account when I downloaded the bank's info later on.     - Running Money and Quicken simultaneously Crazy as the idea may be, I'm considering buying Q 2004 and running it alongside Money 2004 for a comparison. I figure if the Sam's Club deal works, getting Money 2004 for $2.76 plus tax is a pretty good deal. ;) But being an old Quicken user, it's been hard to shake the idea of giving Q2004 a run, so I think I'm gonna take OfficeMax up on their special and try it.     - Can't use MS-Money with Bank of America??????????? I've used Quicken for a while and am using Quicken2003. I've just gave the new MS-Money2004 trial version a try and I like it better, so I was going to switch...... Until I discovered that Bank of America does not support MS-Money, only Quicken. That sounds crazy to me, but apparently this is the case. If I want to switch from Quicken to MS-Money I will loose the ability to download bank transactions automatically and must use the old fashioned manual download statement method.     - matching downloaded transactions with epay entries I have begun using epay in Money2003. When I pay a bill with epay, Money automatically enters the transaction into my register. When it clears the bank and downloaded, it is listed only as a check with a check number. Money can't match it to the original and when I choose "change" and try to manually match it, the transaction entered from epay is dimmed.     - CAN'T UNINSTALL MONEY 2002 JUST BOUGHT 2004 I hope someone out there can help me. I have Microft 2002 loaded onto my system and I can't uninstall it. Everytime I try to load the Money 2004 program, I get an error message saying "Error 1309 Eror reading file c:\Bundle\Money\iue\msaac01.wav. When I go to uninstall money 2002, I get an error message "c:\Bundle\Money\iue\msaac01.wav Verify that the file exists and that you can access it." Strangley when I try to access my control panel, Money 2002 install window comes up several times with this error message and I have to cancel several times. It seems to closely mirror the Quicken I've used for years, therefore I'm sure you can print a reconcilliation report after you balance your checking account but I don't see it anywhere. Please help. I have upgraded to a new computer and installed Microsoft Money 2003 on it.
I had been running it on my old computer with no problems, and was able to
download transactions from banks smoothly.

Now, when I try to download transactions, it looks as if it is working
(quick download screen from my banks site) but Money doesn't recognize it
and when I look for the downloaded file I can't find it.

I am running XP. I have Norton security and antivirus installed but
disabled it when prompted during my Money install. Suspecting this was
still the issue, I changed my Norton options to not restart at start up, and
rebooted. Didn't work. Reinstalled Money. Didn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
