Quicken 2003 premier
I tried to convert a Quicken 2003 premier file and It was
not succesful. It was created a big file with just $0.00

Scheduled bills from loan going past term of loan
Hope someone can help with this:
I have an automobile loan in Money 2000 that I have set up as a
monthly recurring bill. This loan will be paid off in 2 months, yet
it shows up as a scheduled bill well past this 2 month pay-off date.
The loan account shows an accurate balance and it shows that there are
2 payments left. I looked forward a full 12 months and it's still
scheduling payments.
Did I screw something up to make this recurring bill continue to show
up in the Pay Bills section of Money, seemingly forever?

Unlisted Managed Fund Unit Prices
I have a number of unlisted managed funds in my portfolio
which require that I enter the unit prices manually. I
do this typically on a monthly basis.
The unit prices are often quoted to 4 or 5 decimal
places, however when I enter them into MS Money (v12)
manually they get rounded to 3 decimal places. This
makes it impossible to track unlisted managed funds
accurately.
This is not a display problem because the qty * price
ends up wih a significant variance to my actual holdings.
Is there a way around this problem?

Budgeted amounts incorrect
Several of my budgeted amounts are off. they appear to
be off by the amount of a scheduled bill payment. I have
tried deleting budgets and starting over but the same

How Can You Delete a Downloaded Bank Statement
For some reason the most recent bank statement I've
downloaded from my bank, money is showing as new
transactions but they are actually in my account and
already marked as E (electronically cleared) so I don't
why it is doing this. Is there any way I can delete the
current pending transaction and try again as I don't feel
like accepting them as new and then have to piece my way
through my checking account and delete every transaction

Corrupted Internet Updates
Any idea why there have been so many corrupted Internet updates in Deluxe
2004 lately? I lost over 50 transactions a couple weeks ago and tonight it
crashed getting another 62. Until about a month ago, I haven't had any
problems. But now I'm going to have to manually enter over 100 transactions
for the past month. I'll flush my IE browser cache again, but this is
getting frustrating. Has anyone found a way to better stabilize Money 2004?

Posting Messages - Text problem
If I just keep typing as if I was in a word processing application in =
the supplied 'Message Box', if appears to scroll me nicely to a new line =
whenever required.
However as you can see above, after adding my message to
the newsgroup, it displays my text as a single long line!!
For this particular paragraph, I have entered the Return
Key myself to ensure lines of reasonable length. What's
the secret to having it done automatically.

Accidentally deleted indexes from update
Hi,
I am using Money 2003 and I accidentally deleted the
quote updates for Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI),
NAS/NMS COMPSITE (^IXIC), S&P 500 INDEX (^GSPC). Does
anyone know how to add this back to my list of quotes to
be updated?

Why wont it let me get in?
I keep receiving the following message when ever I try to login into the
passport services for Money which is almost a requirement as all my personal
banking is now done online.
I receive this dialog:
The sign-in attempt for <insert email> was unsuccessful. Pleas try your
sign-in name and password again.
Sure I can still get in offline but doesn't Microsoft want to develop a
product that can easily sign on?
I do have a residential router setup but I never have any problems signing
into any of the other passport services. I have double checked to make sure
that I was signed into MSN's homepage before trying to sign in to Money. Yes
my username & passport is correctly and I have also tried logging out and in
to MSN's homepage with Internet Explorer.
This is the first weekend I am heavily using Money before I was just using
my banking's website to do all my banking but I desire now something that
can track my history. I have used Money for weekends in the past before and
it always has given me sign in problems (over the past 6 months) and I would
think Microsoft would fix something like that so the problem is probably

I have been using this program all week, printing out the
register without a hitch. Yesterday, this error came up:
This operation cannot be performed.
I was going to reinstall the software and see if that
helped but my CD doesn't have the reinstall software...it
was installed at Dell.
The way I have been viewing and running this report is:
Accounts - Register - Reports - Spending habits - Account
Transactions. At this point the register should pull up
but instead I get the error message noted above.
Any suggestions of how to fix?

Account register- Automatic Catagories?
Hi all:
I have a question about the account register...just
started using my Money 2002 again. When I download
account activity from my checking account, there is quite
a bit of information already in each trasaction. Then I
try and clean up the month's transactions, and when I
change one transaction, Money automatically updates a
whole bunch (almost all) of others. So, if I change one
transaction payee to "Gas Station," all of the sudden a
bunch of debits from the grocery store become "Gas
Station" purchases as well. Is there some sort of
automatic coding that goes on? Is there some way to turn

problems viewing transactions after downloading
Although account statements download properly and show up
on screen, Money will not allow me to view and therefore
accept the transactions into the register. When you go to
the accounts area it shows the account with the number of
transactions in brackets with the current date of the
download, but will not allow access to view them.

First it wouldn't open..(kept trying to install) now it's
open and won't close. It still continues to go around and
around trying to "Install Money". I think I'll have to
take a chance and just turn off the power to the

Rounding error on invoices
There is a significant rounding error in MSMo 2004 Small
Business in the invoice section. Apparently, MSMo cannot
handle fractions of a cent. For example, the IRS mileage
allowance this year is $0.375/mile and if one charges
this amount back to their customer, MSMo has to round up
the $0.375 to $0.38. Oops! Customers typically become
irate at that.

I am having a problem with Money 2002. When I try to

I'm using Money 2001 deluxe and for no apparent reason the figures shown in

why if i export a file in .qif format and after import the same in another
file, the field "Date" do not transfert (the field "Date" in all new record

I currently use Quicken Home & Business, which doesn't
really work well for consultants. I need the ability to
record time by date that will display on an invoice, not
just by item/category. I'd rather not run a separate
invoicing software, if possible. Does Money2004 Business
support this functionality? It's not clear on the

Money Canadian confuse investement across account
I have Money Delux 2000 Canadian and find out it makes
confuse about investment across different account. For
example I hold NT stock in different account (my wife and
my RRSP account), but it caculate the return and
performance based on the single stock, not based on the
accunt. It even distribute the cost of the stock into the
two account, no matter how it was invested differently
into the account. It doesn't make sense at all! Anybody

I've been using Money for a number of years and recently
upgraded to 2004 Deluxe. I found that Money now has
Equity/Index options. What's the easiest way to convert
all my old options (which are treated like stocks by

We are paid at the end of the month. For February, Money
2004 is doubling our salary and all deductions taken out.
This is for budgeting purposes, so my budget definitely
doesn't work this month and probably won't for this year!

High Processor Utilization with Money 2001
When I run Money 2001 my CPU utilization goes up to 100%. This
happens when an active field is highlighted - ie a new withdrawal
form, even if I'm not doing anything. If I click on a non-Money
window, processor utilization falls away, even though the programme is
still running.
This is an issue for me at the moment as I am having hardware problems
which cause my machine to crash at 100% utilization. However, it is
not ideal at any time. I can't see why the programme should use so
much processor. I use XP Pro at the moment However it I noticed this
high ulilization when using ME and also on other PCs.
I have tried running the programme in other compatability modes (98
etc) but it will not then open at all.

I have been using Money 2003 succesfully but now when I
open it, the pointer changes back and forwards to an
hourglass every 2 seconds. When I try to enter details

The name or symbol '' has already been used for a deleted investment
I'm getting this error using Money 2004 Deluxe. Can I
restore the deleted investment so I can use it? Since the
investment has been deleted, why is Money still keeping a
record of this investment? This deleted investment has
not been used in any transactions. Is there a way of
really deleting it to prevent this conflict?

Money Back-up Problem
I'm having a problem backing up my Money file because the
backup file keeps returning to "read only" status. I
have to manually deselect the "read only" tab in the
properties dialog box; the file will then back up. The
next time I try to back up, however, the file has
reverted to "read only" status. Any suggestions would be

In Money 2003, when I receive payment on an invoice, it
automatically records it to my register. Is there any
way around this?
The reason is that I like to make one large deposit, and
I want this large deposit to show in my register, not the
individual ones.

electronic banking and the clearing of transactions
I have just started electronic banking, and I notice that
the date of the transaction in Money changes when the
bank clears the check. For instance, I can enter the
check transaction in Money on 1/1, but when the bank
clears the check, Money changes the date of the
transaction to the date the check clears.

After system restore (XP) Money is accessable but won't
let me enter new transactions. Tried reinstalling
(without uninstalling), but it does not help.

Microsoft Money Printing
After I "upgraded" to Quicken Personal Plus 2002SE I found I could no longer
print with colour in reports. Putting this down to my ancient printer and
driver troubles I grizzled a bit but carried on. Recently I "upgraded" to
Quicken Personal Plus 2004, which wasn't worth the money and still wouldn't
print in colour.
I just bought a HP multi-function printer (brilliant hardware with truly
atrocious software). To get it working proerly I had to rebuild my Win2K PC
from scratch, which of course led me into the Quicken re-registration
minefield. After finally getting Quicken 2004 re-installed & working it
still doesn't print in colour. During my re-registration battle I found out
from Quicken support that colour printing in reports had been deliberately
removed from the product. Now I've just discovered that Quicken does't
actually use the negative format from Windows regional settings either so
you're stuck with -$x,xxx, like it or not. Frankly, this is unforgiveable
and just about the last straw. As I'm making much more use of reporting now
I'm not content to simply grizzle any longer - I need proper reporting.
All of which explains why I'd like to know if the version of Microsoft Money
on sale in Australia will print in colour (or even color <grin>) and if it's
reporting abilities are any good. Maybe a Quicken user out there knows how
to change the format of negative numbers in reports. As a Quicken user of
more than ten years, it'd be a wrench to change but really I've about had it
with Intuit.

taxutil.dll - Unable to start Money
I have been using Money2000 successfully for the last 4
years.
I tried to start it today and I received the error "MSMONEY
caused an exception 10H in module TAXUTIL.DLL at 017f:
295b207a.". I checked my system and this dll is still
there. Then I tried re-installing with no success. Finally
I uninstalled and re-installed with no luck.

money2004 startup error
When I start the program I encounter following error:

I looked at other posts and done everything from
reinstalling the program to replacing the .dll files. but
keeps giving the error. anyone know what I should do?

line of credit - checking acct overdraft protection
i set up a line of credit acct in money 2003 tied to my
checking account. this is credit card acting like an
overdraft protection acct. if i overdraw my chekcing
acct, it deposits money into the checking acct. cannot
figure out how to track this in money. should i do it as
with a credit card - track the "expense" (deposits into
my checking acct) in the line of credit acct, and then
treat the payments to the line of credit account from the

Balance account - pre-checked items
when I go to balance my checking accout, many if the line
items are "pre-checked" (i download transactions). this
makes it tough to work with my statement to balance the
account. I have to uncheck each manually. is there a way

And I can't find what is a spending account. I have
savings, cheque, credit and cash account but no one seems
to be the one required.
