Hi, I have been a Money customer since 2000 or so. I have recently upgraded
to 2007 from 2006, and ugraded my money file in conjunction. I cannot update
my online accounts anymore. When I read the call summary messages I usually
get:

Your account information is being updated, which may take a few minutes. If
this message appears for more than five minutes, try again.

Sometimes I get: "Update Unsuccessful", or the real fun one which says
"Update in Progress", which stays even after I close and re-open Money

This is for all 10+ of my accounts (banking, credit, etc.), all of which
used to work fine in getting my up-to-date data automatically, so I cannot
believe that all my accounts have been disabled somehow from online updates.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks.

Are you, or were you, running IE7 beta?

Are you, or were you, running Norton?

Never ran Norton.
May have ran IE 7 Beta, but not sure. I know I ran it on my desktop
computer, but not sure about my laptop which is where I am running Money
2007. I did, however, get the Money file that I am using off of my desktop
and copied it to my laptop.
What is the workaround *if* one were to have run IE7 Beta?
Thanks.

You might try toggling the "Automatically detect settings"
or other items as mentioned under "Website Connectivity Issues" in
http://msdn.microsoft.com/ie/releasenotes/default.aspx

In IE6, I would go to
Tools->InternetOptions->Security->TrustedSites->Sites list and
uncheck "Require server verification... ". In the trusted sites
list I would add these:

moneycentral.msn.com
fdl.microsoft.com
passport.com
passport.net
login.live.com
g.msn.com
money://

Thanks a bunch Cal. That actually helped a bit.
I was able to get transactions for some accounts downloaded.
Others were still unsuccessful. Do you know if there is a list of supported
banks and credit card institutions somewhere?
Thanks.

Yes. See http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx

Do you know which thing seemed to have made the improvement in your
case?

When I had this trouble I called Schwab tech help, and they had me do one
thing that got me to the state that Refresher is now (most accounts work
fine, some always report the account is being updated):

In IE, Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Use SSL 2.0 (checked)

I had a very similar problem after installing XP sp2. None of my online
accounts would update even after I turned off Windows firewall.

I tried the SSL 2.0 - didnt work

I added all of the suggested trusted sites and unchecked authentication -
all accounts updated.

Thankyou Cal.
