    - bar charts I just upgraded after many years from Money 2001 Deluxe to Money 2007 Deluxe. After solving the infamous problem where the reports won't load and just display "Loading" (by going to Cash Flow and adding an item?!?), I noticed that there is no option to display a chart as a bar graph. This was one of the nicest features of Money 2001 and I had several custom reports that let me look at Account balance and investment changes over time in an easy to use bar graph.     - Can an account be excluded from the monthly report? Money 2007 Deluxe Win XP SP2 I have a couple of accounts that I track for my mother and really don't want to keep them in a separate money file, but the transactions in those accounts severely skew my monthly report. My budget is cool because I can uncheck her accounts for selection for the budget. There doesn't appear to be any way to control the monthly report as far as which accounts are used to generate the report. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place or maybe it can't be done.     - M2006: Money could not verify your sign-in information When attempting to start M2006, I get an error message that "Money could not verify your sign-in information". It says to close Money and restart. But I get the same error message. I have tried repairing the Money file (msmoney -s) and restoring an old backup but to no avail. What else can I try?     - credit/debit payment/deposit incorrect I have been using Money 2005 for several years. Every once in a while, several entries in an investment account will become incorrect -- sells will be listed as payments, buys will be listed as deposits. However, not all transactions are incorrect, just some. This problem is briefly mentioned here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889246/en-us ...but the solution isn't applicable to me. I ported my Money 2003 or 2004 file a long time ago, have updated Money 2005, and the program usually works correctly for me. Because my old money file is 3 years old, it would be useless for me to re-import it. The only solution that has worked so far for me is to write down each "corrupted" transaction, delete them, and then re-enter each one.     - smrtinet.ini and won't connect to internet I hve once again caught the smrtinet.ini problem about which so much has been written here over the years! (but, so fara as I can see, nothing recently) Anyway, I get the message that "money encountered error processing the downloaded file ("SMRTINET.INI") when I try to update my bank account (nationwide) and my share prices. I have tried resetting the connection data, but cannot get beyond the screen saying "log on to nationwide building society" Also if I go into the relevant account in Money and try "to connect to bank", it won't. Indeed, I have just tried typing an internet address it fails to make any connection. I have tried re-installing money, but with no success.     - Cannot start money essentials I just got my wife a new Toshiba laptop. We're trying to start Microsoft Money Essentials OEM for the first time. On the initial startup it asked if I wanted to run update and I said yes. It downloaded something and applied the update. Now when I start it up I have to go through a setup process. I have put in her LIVE account information but it keep saying that I have to go online and reenter my login details. When I click the help icon nothing comes up. It says page can not be displayed. Oddly enouh when I try to create a new LIVE account through the money setup I also get a "page cannot be displayed" error as if I'm not on the internet but I know I am.     - Customising monthly reports? Hello, I'm just starting out using Money. One thing that's annoying me is that I can't see how to customise the monthly report. I have income and expenditure from a small business which I don't want to see on this report. I just switched banks (because my previous bank upgraded their on-line system and dropped two-way transfer!), and I don't know if this problem is an artifact of that switch. Now when I make an epay, the payment is automatically given a check number (previously, no number was given). I don't mind that, but the numbers are very close to my current paper check numbers.     - Microsoft Money 2002 Deluxe & Business I am having a problem with Money Deluxe & Business 2002 and the MoneySide security component. It does NOT require technical support, because I think that it is an upgrade problem. The problem illustrates a significant change in software development. My computer's OS is Windows XP Professional (Office 2003 is also installed). Since the debut of Money 2007, the MoneySide security component has not worked properly. For example, when I visit my bank's website the side pane that appears posts an error message. To make sure that Moneyside is functioning, I have to click on the HELP button, click on the SETTING button, and finally click on the ALWAYS button. The functionality should happen automatically. A friend who wanted to move all of her info from money on an old computer to a new computer (without the benefit of a flash drive, cd burner, network, cursory computer knowledge, etc) tied to move the file to a floppy. When the floppy ran out of room, she cancelled the transfer, and the file itself has since seemingly been lost. She performed a systems restore to a date before the screw-up and was still unable to find the file. Then she called me. I've tried good old fashioned searching the entire hard drive by date for .mny or .tmp files, FileScavenger, Undelete, etc, and cannot find anything resembling that file. I do have one file of interest that is a "xxx.mny.xml" but cannot seem to rename it and save it as a money file to open. Is that even appropriate? I'm either in over my head or missing something simple. I don't need to be told how stupid it was to depend on a single file in a single hard drive. Please help?     - moving a mny file from XP to Vista I bought a new laptop with Vista loaded (business edition). Installed my copy of Money 2005. Copied my .mny file over to the new laptop. When I try to open it, Money says it wants to convert it and upgrade it to 2005 (it IS a 2005 version). Click OK to convert (anyway). Error: Money cannot locate...     - some transactions not downloaded? My apologies if this is already in play, but I couldn't find it. When reconciling my recent credit card statement I found several transactions that were on the statement, but had never dowloaded to Money 2007. I queried the FI (1st Tech) and they said "Money will miss transactions that are backdated to a date in the past after a recent download. For example if you download today and tomorrow a transaction is posted with an effective date earlier in the month, Money will not look backwards for the transaction.     - Help! Installing Money 2006 with Vista Trying to run Money 2006 with Vista has caused nothing but problems. On first installation, the program appeared to start, asked for me to accept internet compatibility, then shut down. After that, I could not open the program from the start menu, nor could I open my data directly (data is stored in Documents folder fyi). I tried Microsoft's dll solution here... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814144/en-us?spid=9213&sid=global (had to disable user protection for it to even work). This did not solve my problem, so I uninstalled Money altogether, then tried to reinstall the program with user protection turned off. Again, it seemed to start normally, but then after asking me to accept internet protocol, the program shuts down immediately.     - money 2006 problems importing from bank whenever I import information from my bank uccu, it says that the import is complete and that I have one statement to read with 150 transactions to review, but when it opens to the account register, none of the new transactions show up. It shows the correct amount and date from my bank in the left hand corner, and it says that I still have 150 transactions to review. I have tried changing the online settings, emptying the temporary internet files, repairing the money file, and setting the account register to show all transactions, but so far nothing has worked.     - Still Confused About ecoring Online Payments I just instlled Money 2007 and activated an online payment account. I cannot get online payments to automatically get recorded in the check register. I askeds about this here last wek and thge response I got was that if I made the payment through Money, it would get recorded. Here is what I am trying to do.... I get a bill in the mail from Acme Wigits for $34.95. I want to pay it using online bill pay. I start Money and select Account List/Checking/Make a Payment/Make an Electronic Payment.     - Money 2007 Deluxe and Vista Home Premium 32 Bit Hi, I have not yet been able to successfully update my bank account information with Money ever since I switched to Vista. Money will crash with the "Microsoft Money has stopped working" dialog every time I update the bank account information, and periodically even when it's closed it will toss up something about how Money Background has stopped working. I checked around and so far havn't been able to find anyone else who has similar problems. I've reinstalled Money twice so far just to see if that has helped, but no go.     - Cash account vs Portfolio view Using Money 2004 Deluxe. Never had this happen before but in Portfolio View, one of my accounts shows a negative cash balance of $1100.84. When I switch to the Cash portion of this account, it shows a zero balance. Huh??? If I add $1100.84 to the Cash account, it shows $1100.84 in the Cash account but in the Portfolio View shows zero balance in the cash part. I have done the following: Insured that the starting balance in the cash account is $0.00 Voided every transaction in the cash account which leaves a $0.00 balance.
