    - multiple empty accounts showed up I have three accounts with Broker X, which I've tracked for some time with Money (2006 Premium). Only one of them was set up for automatic updates. As soon as I enabled the other two for automatic updates, Money created SEVEN new empty accounts ("Broker X Cash Account", "Broker X Cash Account #2", ... "Broker X Margin Account", etc.) separate from the two I wanted to connect. Next thing I know, I have NINE pending statements for these seven imaginary and empty accounts, displaying "bank balance" totalling somewhere in the range of $200,000! Good grief!     - No Internet Access - Installation possible? Hi, I hope someone out there can help me! For my Birthday, I've been given MS Money 2006 Deluxe. However, for the life in me, I can't install it as I'm not on the Internet at home (I'm sending this from a friend's PC). I just want to use Money to manage my simple incomings/outgoings.     - go back to report always at bottom When I am looking at a transaction report in money and leave it for some reason, when I go back, it always goes to the bottom of the report. Let's say, I right click on a transaction and choose to go to that transaction. It will take me to that transaction in the register. If I then click on the left arrow (or press <alt><left arrow> or click on the <back> button on my mouse), the report will reappear, but it will not be displaying the transaction I just left. It displays the final "page" of the report, not the front of the report, which includes the transaction. I find this irritating. It is not the same behavior you get when jumping between accounts on either side of a transfer. So, is there a work-around (like a setting) better than scrolling to the top each time?     - 'Transfer' vs 'Payment' I'm new to Money and trying to sort things out here. Can someone please explain the difference(s) between a 'transfer' and a 'payment'? I'm also a bit frustrated trying to understand why I get different choices at different times - when I think i should be doing a 'transfer' [moving $$ from one account to another] and the target account isn't in the list.     - Thanks Microsoft! I will save a ton of money upgrading software from this point forward. Each version of Money is worse than the one preceding it. I would just be happy if the program would download the updates from my institutions on a consistent basis. I do not understand how all my financial institutions have a problem at the same time. I might be able to get updates to my checking account if I try the update button five or six times. Another problem with Microsoft's program is how MoneyCentral has to download the information first then pass it along to me. Is this really necessary? Why can't money just connect directly with my bank? Another problem is how duplicate transactions get crested over and over again. How many times does one have accept something before it disappears? Like I said before, I will save a lot of money because I am never buying a newer version again.     - Corrupt Money file appears to create system instability Looking for some help and assistance correcting an apparently corrupt Money file that results in my laptop rebooting when I have Money open (but not immediately on open). Worked with MS support to try file repair (level 2 fails), then selectively deleted the accounts that appeared to cause problem (Amex and Schwab). Repair files executes successfully when accounts are deleted. Trouble is, I need them, and have been using Money as my personal finance software since 2001. 1) Is this a known problem? 2) Is is related to Money 2006, that I upgraded to 2 weeks ago? 3) How can I fix it?     - Way to determine if an old money file was tampered with? The transactions in an old money file may be needed to support arguments in a civil case. The file is from the mid nineties and the date time stamp on the file supports this declaration. Opposing counsel may try to call into question the validity of the file.     - Money 2005 stuck on "Update in progress" The account list shows all of my automatically updating accounts are "Update in progress." When I try an update, the stock and fund quotes update fine. None of the accounts (credit cards, etc.) update. Three successive message boxes appear - the first two only for a second. 1. Updating account information 2. Processing Service Updates 3. Update not complete. Then the update results show an error message for each account: "Microsoft Money could not update your account. Please try to update your account again." Or "Your account information is being updated, which may take a few minutes..." I have found numerous similar complaints on the newsgroups but nothing has helped so far.     - budget not tracking a category correctly I've set up a category and set up the budget to track it. But for some reason, the "thermometer" at the bottom of the check register is only keeping track of certain debits from that category. For instance, for this month, it says I've spent $350 of my allocated $600 in that category, but in reality, I've spent over $400. When I double click the thermometer to see the itemized debits, some are missing. But when I go back to the check register to see if I've categorized them correctly, I have. Is it possible the subcategory is throwing it out of the category? Often, when I'm recording the transaction, I'll change the category that Money automatically assigns it to the one I've set up.     - Money is limited to one credit card account per credit card company. My wife and I have seperate american express card accounts (not 2 cards on the same account). On the web we have separate login ids and passwords to Amex. Money seems to assume and only allows one logon id per financial institution for automatic downloads.     - Money 2006 premium Upgrade I currently use Money 2004 Std A couple of days ago on lauching Money there was an offer to upgrade to Money 2006 Premium at a price about $12 (after rebate) lower than usual....I think after rebate it worked out to around $37.95. This offered wasdue to expire at the end of September. Anyway, I clicked on the link and started entering my information but was then distracted by something and did not complete it....no big deal I thought...I'll do it later. Now when I launch money I can only see in the announcements area an offer to "Upgrade to Money Deluxe now". Does anyone know how I can get back to the original offer?     - Cannot set up online services for multiple accounts in the same financial institution Hi I am using microsoft money 2004. My spouse and I hold different accounts at the same financial institutions. We want to set up online services so that each of our accounts get downloaded automatically. However, MS money online services manager allows only one login ID per financial instution. Is there a workaround? Is this feature available in later versions of microsoft money.     - Failed Login - Passport info cannot be verified. Just bought Money 2006 Standard (Canadian Edition), and installed the program without difficulties. However, I am unable to login to Passportâ?¦prompted: â??Your sign-on information could not be verifiedâ??. I can log in to my Hotmail account, or any other online element requiring my passport.     - Pay Bill Download Algorithum Hi, to avoid confusion, I am starting a new thread on questions that I posted on 3/22 and 3/24 on this subject My wife and I use Microsoft Money 2004 to keep track of our finances. We both set up checking accounts, one checking account for my wife and another checking account for myself. We both use our bank for automatic Bill Payments (Pay Bill) and have run into a problem when the banks transactions are downloaded into Money 2004. My wife created automatic Bill Payments for companies that she makes reoccurring payments to and I created automatic Bill Payments for companies that I make monthly payments to. The bank assigned numeric numbers for Payees (i.e. the first Payee #1, the second Payee #2,â?¦) for each company that my wife created an automatic Bill Payment for and did the same for each payee that I created an automatic Bill Payments for. The problem is that my wife''s Payees are different than my Payees and the bank makes automatic payments to these Payees but when the data is downloaded into Money 2004, the Payees become interchanged. When I download the bank transactions to Microsoft Money 2004, Money does not differentiate my payees from my wifeâ??s payees so when I try and reconcile my account, it includes some of the names of my wifeâ??s payees and when my wife reconciles her account, some of my payees appear in her checking account. I have looked at (opened) the Money OFX.DLL file but was unable to make sense of the contents of this file and guess that this is a mapping / algorithm problem? I sure would appreciate help so that my payees are downloaded to my account and my wifeâ??s payees are downloaded into her account.     - Adjust Shares Hi All - yet another one of my questions: My employer recently changes 401k providers and in the process I lost the ability to go back and see the purchases that were done from my last contribution. In other words: I have a 3 year history of the 401k in MS Money, and now I have my new positions on the 401k website, but I am missing one set of transactions which would make my Money balance out with the website. What's the best way to account for this? Can I just say in MS Money: here's what my balances now are, enter some adjustment? At the top is a caption which tells me how many unread statements I have. There is a column to the left labeled Unread which may have an arrow pointing to one or more statements. To send it to Notepad, open the "sendto" folder (Start - Run - Sendto will do that), right click in the folder, select new - then shortcut - then enter "notepad.exe". Go back to the folder where the ofx file is located, right-click, send to, select notepad. I'm switching from 2003 to 2006.(maybe)
My old budget had property taxes at $2871.00
my new taxes as we have moved is $1800.00
No matter what I edit into it comes out 2871.00 as budgeted.
Also I had 1 adult beverage at 4pm while I'm looking at ms money 2003 stock
and so on to come in. If I don't find a way to speed Ms money 2006 up I'll
become a Alcoholic.
Any help or should I stay with ms money 2003?
