    - Fidelity Account Stops Updating Hey All, I have been having a problem for the last couple of weeks (and I'm sure sure if it has to do with the 2005-2006 upgrade) or its something else, but my Fidelity Accounts stop downloading transactions for no obvious reason. The position data and cash balance comes down, and Money wants to adjust the positions, but Buy/Sell and Deposit/Withdrawal transactions on the cash side are not downloaded. The strange thing is (aside from the fact that I don't have any problems with the rest of my accounts) if I disable downloads, renable them, and download the last 7 days of transactions, everything comes down fine, matches correctly and I'm set.     - Money 2006 A communication error has occured. I recently upgraded from Money 2002 to Money 2006 Deluxe. When trying to open my Money 2002 Backup file, I get "A communication error has occured. Please try your call again" -Then Money crashes completely and sends an error report to Microsoft.     - How to Exclude Account from Budget when Option Check Box is Inactive? I want to exclude the income in my retirement accounts from being included in the budget planning and being shown as income in monthly reports.     - Money 2006 Premium I recently upgraded to 2006 Premium, and now I notice a significantly longer time, 15/20+ minutes, to load the product to the home page, and then another 15/20+ minutes to paint the Cash Flow graph.     - Inaccurate Category Summary Rpt. I have Money SBE 2004. I have noticed that adjustment transactions entered directly into a LOAN account are not reflected in the appropriate category when a Category Summary Report is run. I have double-checked all of the report options but cannot find any settings that seem to be pertinent to this situation. Does anyone have any ideas for either getting these to show up on the reports or for an alternate way of entering these transactions that will produce an accurate report?     - MS Money 2003 - Not Downloading Wachovia Bank statements Hi, I am using Money 2003 to download bank statements. Few months back, I set up Wachovia account and was able to download the statement. When I tried today, it is simply not downloading stating that 'Request to get statements for Wachovia Checking Account failed. Pls call customer support for your financial institution'.     - Money 2006 + Canadian bank acct downloading Does ms money 2006 actually let you download from any canadian banks, or do you have to do the manual import? Quicken let's you download from within the program, I'm sure money must allow this as well, I don't see any canadian banks listed when I got to setup online services...I do have my regional settings set to Canada, and my base currency is set to Canadian.     - Money stopped displaying downloaded transactions ... Using Money 2006. All the sudden on one CitiCard Mastercard MSMoney is no longer displaying new transactions. It shows me what the bank balance is... and the program says "call successful"...but it isn't actually downloading them. Before this week, it downloaded the transactions fine.     - Can I forego Category groups? In a previous post someone asked about adding / modifying category groups. The respondent referred to http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/69.aspx which said "Category groups are used for internal parts of the program only" My question is then "Why do I care?"     - Patriot Bonds I have searched for "patriot bond" and "savings bond" and have turned up little and what I found did not answer the questions I have. I am using Money 2003 Deluxe. I am starting, yet again, and want to get things in properly this time. We have some Patriot Bonds and I am uncertain how best to deal with these. Currently, I have an investment account with each bond listed within that. Is that the best way to set these up? If I purchase a $100 Patriot Bond today for $50 and the interest is 3.5%, I know when the bond is done maturing (30 years). How does Money know when to add interest into the account?     - Wildcards in Preferred Payee Name Is there any way to allow for wildcards when matchin Payee names? For example, I have transactions that come in as "3300 Mission St - 7-29 - Customer".     - Digital File Attacments to Transactions Another question... I see that Quicken 2006 has resurrected a feature they included in one of their earlier versions; the ability to attach digital images to transactions (paycheck stubs, receipts,...whatever). This was a *terrific* feature and really loved it. It saved me a *lot* of trouble, particularly when I had to produce a receipt for an item that I had purchased a long time ago, yet was still under warranty. I could go on about how useful this feature was to me, but I digress... I was a loyal user of Quicken and TurboTax almost since the beginning, that is until the TurboTax Macrovision/C-Dilla slap in the face of a few years ago. At that time, out of protest, I swore off Intuit entirely and switched to Money and TaxCut. I've never regretted the decision. However, now that Intuit has brought this feature back to Quicken, I'm actually giving some thought to switching back, just for the digital file attachment feature. Frankly, I'd rather not, as I still don't think Intuit got the message from all the loyal customers they drove away. Has anyone heard if Microsoft plans to include this feature in a future version of Money, or perhaps make this feature available in Money 2006 with a downloadable upgrade or service pack?     - Online Payment Dates I use Money 2005 Deluxe. I know this topic has been covered before, but I'm trying to figure out how to get an online payment to show up in the register with the proposed date of payment (similar to entering a post-dated check in the register), rather than the date I enter the transaction. Perhaps it's some register preference setting I've overlooked? When I make my online payments, I generally save these entries as drafts first so I can review them before committing to sending them off. Does this possibly have anything to do with this issue?     - Bank no longer listed when updating First time Money user using Money 2006 Deluxe. After a week of using the Update Now feature to update my banking accounts on Money. Considering upgrading to 2003, or 2004-switch from one bank to other and they require newer then 02. Saw warning that 2005 will expire online services in 2007 and (I guess) force You to get new version. Will 2003 and 2004 stop working online soon, even 2002 is still working fine?     - Budgeting and different account cycles I have just downloaded a trial version of MS Money 2006. I want a better tool to see my cashflow and help me with budgeting. Since you can't change budget dates in MS Money how can you keep track of all the transactions when my checking account cycle is different from my credit card cycle? I try to purchase all items on credit card but my bills and some expenses come from the checking account.     - Account balances & duplicate transactions when importing I'm trying to import QIF files from Quicken into the OEM MS Money that came installed on my new Dell desktop. The problem: When I import all the accounts -- whether individually or simultaneously with the Control+Shift method recommended by MS -- the transfers between bank and credit card accounts end up being duplicated. This, of course, messes up the account balances big time. Also, some accounts have incorrect balances even though there are no duplicate transactions.     - Duplicate downloads and LOCKED Payee's What's the deal with 2006? I signed up to use Yodlee and all was great for a few days and now tonight I am $28,000 in the HOLE! I had to delete duplicate transactions all the way back from March. What is that about? Also, I see that it created new Payee's even though I have the EXACT same name for a Payee. Yet the Payee on the downloaded transaction is LOCKED. I already have way too many entries under "pizza hut" to create a new pizza hut payee and swap the old one to the new. What is that about?     - Problem in online transactions I am still getting the OFXHTTP400 error on T Rowe Price accounts. It gets the pricing information but no additional transactions. I suspect this is a corrupted file. I ran a cleanup and it 18 transactions, none of them TRP but I know the records are intermingled... I have tried this on Money 2004 and Money 2006 on separate computers. Both exhibit the same behavior.     - Continuous update unsuccessful--this is truly bogus Any updated info on the online account updating issues in Money 2005/2006. Example. I have several credit cards listed and setup for online account access, downloaded transactions (advanced register), etc. Suddenly the account will get an error stating that "update unsuccessful" and then never updates after that. I have read where the advice was to delete the online account and reset it up. The problems I have with that are that when I do that, now all my transaction history for that account is lost and I am given only the balance. I have selected the max for account history. To top off the issue, more often not I get the error message that account services are not available, please try again later. I know this has been an ongoing issue.     - Why Does Money 2006 Create a Separate MSN Billpay Account? I have been paying my bills through MSN Billpay since 2002 (Money 03). I recently upgraded to M06 and noticed that all of my MSN BP transactions are entered into a new account which naturally is a big debit ($20K or so, since it's all debits), rather than into the checking account I use to pay the bills from.     - Money 2006 Portfolio two different values for Annualized Return I have the test drive version of Money 2006. In the portfolio manager, I have the Annualize Return column visible. This provides values for each holding, each account, and the entire portfolio. At the bottom of the portfolio manager, I have selected Annualized Return as one of the three to display. My totals line my portfolio displays an annualized return of 7.5%, on the bottom, it displays 10%. I bounced around changing the bottom line to display values such Cost Basis, Market Value, and Total Returns and these all match the line labeled as Total Portfolio Value ($). I believe the Annualized Return is a good barometer for understanding at a glance how my portfolio is performing. I don't know which number to believe. Anyone else see this? I also posted a discrepancy between Money 2004 and Money 2006 of the annualized return. I did a test with a few of my investment by putting them into MYM version 12 (circa 1998) and it matches very close to the Money 2006. It would be labor intensive to put all my portfolio transactions into MYM as a test.     - Problems loading portfolio I've been using http://moneycentral.msn.com to keep track of my portfolio for past couple of years. Over these years, I've built up a significant amount of transaction of my investments. As usual I started my portfolio, after a gap of couple of weeks. This time, instead of my portfolio being shown, I was greeted with a pop-up saying something like "reviewing transactions". And nothing happened. After a careful review, I found that numerous files each named with "my portfolioXX.mny" where XX is a sequentially increasing number starting with 1, were placed in my "My Documents" folder. This went on till my harddisk was completely filled. Each of these files was exactly of the same length as my portfolio that was stored as a "my portfolio.mny" file. I had to terminate my Internet Explorer window to stop the program and delete all these files to recover the disk space. I tried restoring the backup from the disk (that I had saved before) with the same results. I tried logging in via a different passport account but it won't let me access the portfolio since it was created using the original account. I am running Pocket PC 2003 on the handheld and I read I have to install Pocket PC Money 2004. When I install the Pocket PC application it says that Money is not on my Desktop PC, but it is.     - Q about transfers, managing online accts, marking bills paid, budg I have several questions related to managing my accounts in Money 2004: 1. Downloaded Statements and Transfers - I download my statements from my credit card company and bank, but wish to mark my credit card payment from the bank statement as a transfer to the cc account. I want to do this so that the payment amount isn't considered an expense in one acct, and income in the other. However, when I do this, I end up with either a duplicate payment in one of the accounts (the opposite one from where I initiate the transfer). Is there a better way to do this, or some way to make Money more aware of how my accounts are managed so that this transfer happens automatically? (Note that my bank is BofA and they don't seem to offer direct download of statements. Maybe this is part of the problem.) 2. What is the difference between a checking account entry that's of type Withdraw with Category: Transfer to <cc acct>, one of type Withdraw with Category: Credit Card Payment: <cc acct>, and one of type Transfer with To: <cc acct>? 3. Why does the cash flow graph always go down, down, down for credit card accounts? I pay them off each month, bu M2004 doesn't seem to factor the payments into them as balancing them out. Perhaps this is related to my use of transfers between accounts. What's the right way to do this? 4. My FirstUSA and BankOne Visa cards have both become part of Chase over time. I would like to change the Financial Institution associated with them, so that all these accounts are downloaded from the same place. If I use the Online Services Manager to modify my access to Chase, I can see all my accounts listed, but in the field labeled "This downloaded account matches:" M2004 only shows me a subset of my accounts listed there. The accounts not listed are associated with the old online service name. Same thing in reverse for the other service providers. Is there any way to break or change the online service provider associated with an account? 5. The Bills & Deposits list is constantly showing me items that are past due, and I believe this is because the downloaded transactions are constantly showing up with different names. How can I match up the past due items with the actual transactions that they belong to? 6. Annoyances with the Budget - My paychecks don't always fall on the same days each month, and when viewing the budget for the Last Month, sometimes they won't be attributed to the proper month. Consequently I'll get a month grossly under budget followed by a month over budget. How can I make M2004 more tolerant of these discrepancies? I would really rather see my budget with respect to moving averages rather than discrete values. Perhaps some of these are addressed in M2006. Please let me know if that is the case. It seems in 2006 you can't highlight one, or multiple, items in
your bill summary listing and see what the balance will be after
the items selected are completed. Has anyone found a way around
this?

I used this daily in 2005 and will be going back to 2005 if it's
not available now. It was a fast and flexible way to analyze cash
flow. Why would they remove this feature?
