    - Incorrect matching of transaction name Everytime I download my transaction info for my credit card account, it gets two names screwed up. If I shop at Target, it always brings the transaction in as Powercom, which is my telephone provider. Is there anyway to straighten this out?     - home page - Date accounts were updated I download my accout info from my bank at least once a week. I'm wondering why I can't get the "Updated" date on the home page to update correctly. Both my checking and savings are from the same institution. The date for my savings account will update to close to the current day when I download the info. The date on my checking, however, will never update. I have checked to see that the account information is correct and it is. I've got everything filled in just as I do with my savings.     - Money 2006 Canadian Version I would like to upgrade to Money 2006. But I see that the Canadian Version is based on the Standard Edition, and this software is missing some very usefull features such as Cash Flow Analysis. Is it possible that MS will develop a Canadian Edition that is closer to the Deluxe version? I also see in the 2003 Canadian version that when I choose retirement savings accounts, I'm given many option that pertain to US RSP regulations (401K, etc) and none that are more Canadian specific. Surely it wouldn't be too hard to develop a Canadian version that is of more benefit to the majority of Canadian users?     - Upgrading to 2006 and to an New Computer I have used an earlier version of Microsoft Money that came installed on the computer when I bought it, but when I bought a new computer all that was installed was Quicken. Quicken wouldn't allow me to use my old Microsoft Money information, unless I upgraded to a $100 version of the software. If I download Money 2006 onto my new computer, can I transfer my old information to the new computer and have Money 2006 read it? If so, how?     - Money 2004 UK and Money 2006 U.S. Hi, I have been using Money 2004 UK version for all my accounts (UK and U.S. based). Now I live in the U.S. and just installed Money 2006 Premium (U.S. version) on the same laptop. Since I my salary is in US$ and I pay into a 401(k), I want to use the U.S. version's budgeting and planning features, but since I have accounts and investments in the UK, I want to retain and analys/ze those accounts using my UK Money package. When I installed the U.S. version, it tried to convert my UK .mny file but thought the file was corrupted. Later, I uninstalled the US version of Money and tried to use my pre-existing .mny file in the UK version, but it wouldn't recognis/ze my password. I created a new money file for my US accounts with a separate name, but still couldn't access the existing file. Can someone advise how I can use the UK and U.S. versions of Money without the U.S. version preventing me from accessing the UK file?     - Incorrect Password My PC crashed and I've had to restore all applications and files. I've reinstalled Money 2002, but when I try to open my last Money file and enter the correct password, I receive a message that the password I entered is incorrect. I've used the same password for years, so I know I'm entering the right password. I also used Microsoft Passport with Money. What do I need to need to fix this problem?     - Citi Card not updating when starting Money 2006 I have a few credit cards and bank accounts set up for online updates. My Citi Card account is the only one where you can specify the frequency for updating. I have it set for "Every Day". When I first sign into Money 2006 in the morning it automatically performs an online update for all my cards and banks - except my Citi Card account. In order to update that account I have to do a manual update. I tried disabling online updates for the account and then enabling it again, however its still not updating automatically when I sign in.     - Money 2006 Small Business invoices I just bought Money 2006 SB because I read somewhere that it (finally) can email HTML invoices and has a totally revamped invoice designer. So imagine my disappointment -- disgust, actually, since Microsoft hasn't gotten this product right in over 10 years -- when I found the same old piece of crap invoice designer and no way to send HTML invoices.     - Upgrading from Money 98 to 2006 Problems Hi all, I am running Money 98 on a Windows 98 machine. I have a new machine that is running Windows XP Pro. I downloaded the Money 2006 Trial version to see if I can bring my Money 98 files in. When I try to open the Money 98 file I receive the following message: "The file maybe corrupted or is not a Money file. If you chose the correct file and it would not open, you can try to repair this file or restore a recent backup" I have tried to repair the file but was told that the database was invalid. When I try to restore from a backup, it says that the file cannot be located, is read only, or that I do not have the permissions to do this. Is this occurring because I am using the trial application? I thought from reading other posts that the file could be converted if it was done on an XP machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.     - How to eliminate the need to sign in to My Money 2005? I just upgraded my PC and my new one has My Money 2005 (was using 2003). I never had to log in/sign in to money while using 2003, but can't figure out how to eliminate this need to sign in to 2005.     - How can I prevent Money from automatically loading previously downloaded statements for reconciliation? I am using Money Standard 2000. I have always downloaded my bank statements via the web and then, when I have chosen to do so, imported the downloaded statements into Money for reconciliation. That way, I can wait to import the statements until after I have hand entered the transactions for a particular period, which is what I prefer. I recently bought a new computer and installed Money. I had not entered data into Money since last April, although I had downloaded .ofc statements from my bank at regular intervals. When I opened Money today, it immediately opened my most recently downloaded statement for reconciliation. I can?t figure out how to configure the program not to do that, and don?t recall how I so configured it on my old computer. I can?t find anything in Tools/Options that covers this.     - When do uncashed electronic payments get re-credited to my account I sent an electronic payment via Money 2004 to a friend, but before she received it we worked out some other compensation. When she received the $700 check, she tore it up instead of cashing it. However, even before she received the check, $700 has already been taken out of my account! When do I get this money back? I've been using e-payments through Microsoft Money for about three years, and this is the first time I've had this situation. I hadn't been aware 'til now that these paper checks that get sent out apparently take my money out immediately and move it to some intermediary account--this really annoys me to know that my account is being tapped before anyone actually gets a check.     - Money 2006 Install Error Does anyone have problems with installing Microsoft Money 2006?? I keep getting an error at the end, "Setup was unable to install some of the components needed to run money. Try installing money again." I have no problems installing Money 2005. I have tried every conceivable (and I mean everything, short of a full reformat) ways to see if the install would work; such as removing programs that I recently installed, new Admin Logon, in safe mode, backed out Win XP SP2, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.     - Additional Mortgage Payment On the 1st of each month my mortgage payment is drafted from my bank & Money 2005 tracks it with no problem; however I also make an additional mortgage payment on the 15th of every month and I'm unable to get Money to recognize the extra payment. The daily price changes are recorded correctly in Investment Summary and Best and Worst Performers, but not where it matters most, the Last Price in PV and Today's Total Change, and of course, the Market Value of one's holdings. And, btw, since I've used M2004 has never properly recorded the changes for one pink sheet stock I own, Canadian Oil Sands, which isn't exactly an unknown stock.     - Dow Jones Index Options I have been unable to create a Dow Jones Index Option in Money 2006. The problem occurs when I am asked to select the underlying stock index from the list. (last step in creating the investment) I am able to select every index listed except for the Dow Jones Industrial Average which is the one that I want. When I try to select Dow Jones Industrial Average (then click finish), a box pops up asking me to select an index from the above list or change my investment choice to "other option". I do not want it to be categorized as "other option" and even if I did, it wont let me enter it correctly there either. I have tried removing all indexes from my watch portfolio then deleting the index completly and then readding them ,but that hasnt helped either. Any help greatly appreciated.     - Merge accounts and account type issues w Money 2006 I just upgraded from Money Small Business 2004 to 2006. I've never used passport with Money before. I do direct banking with my bank, not via their website. I'm having trouble now when I try to download a statement, Money says the bank doesn't recognize my accounts. It says this could be because of duplicate accounts. Yes, it has duplicated my two checking accounts. My old accounts (1 and 2) are all there, have all their transactions. Then there are duplicates of those accounts, 3 and 4 respectively. So I go to merge accounts, and it says I can't merge a personal account with a business account and to chose a different account! Well I can't just merge any old accounts! #3 duplicates #1, and #4 duplicates #2. These are the accounts that need to be merged. It also won't let me change the account type for any of these 4 accounts. So now I have upgraded to Money 2006 and my online banking is worthless and my accounts are all screwed up. What do I do now?     - Money2005 Internal Error when access loan accounts I just began using Money2005 Standard OEM (HP Notebook with WinXP Pro). I set up my Mortgage Loan and associated my Condo as the asset. I can access the associated asset account, but when I attempt to access the Mortgage Loan account, Money gives me the error "Money has experienced and internal error and needs to close...." message then reboots. I can't even delete the account because any access to it starts the error all over again. I tried everything to solve this. MS won't help for free because it's OEM. HP won't help for free because it's 3rd Party. I reinstalled the software and the account was gone. Instead of setting up my Mortgage again, I set up my Car Loan. Same problem! Each time I attempt to access the Car Loan account, I get the "internal error" apology and the program reboots.     - M06 Deluxe Budgeting Issues I am still trying to fix the budgeting feature in Money 06. I cannot switch from Essential Budget to Advanced and Essential Budget does not appear to work correctly. Let's start with Essential Budget: I have tried repairing the file both Quick and Standard without affect. I have tried deleting all Income and Expense without affect. However I have noticed that with all these deleted the budget looks strange. When looking at the Expense page the summary says $0 Income and $0 Expenses Net $0, but when looking at the Income page the summary indicates a $2960 expense for a Net -$2960 budget. I saw something about starting a new file and importing QIF file which I though I would try but it looks like I can only export 1 account at a time and this file has over 225 accounts in it. I certainly can't do that. Are there any other solutions? I want to get to Advanced Budgeting mode preferably, but in lieu of that would be slightly satisfied to get the budget to net out correctly in the Essential mode. I suspect the two issues may share the same root cause and it may be this "phanton" $2960 in expenses that is keeping me from switching to Advanced mode. Without a budgeting feature, this program is really little more than a checkbook in terms of functionality for me anyway. I have transactions dating back to 1998 in this Money file, I would hate to lose all that information by creating a new file and am not even sure that would fix the budgeting problem. (This way I still have all my financial data in tact.)     - Another Cash Account question I have a schwab investment account setup. It has, on the cash ledger $6000. In the same account, I own a MM Mutual fund with 34,000 shares at $1 each. I sold the MM Fund, and bought $40,000 worth of a bond fund. My investment ledger shows a sale of 34,000 shares of the MM Mutual fund. It automatically "used" the cash balance to purchase the bond fund. How do I show the "sale" of the cash in the cash portion? My main problem is that the sale of the MM fund shows as investment income. It is offset my a buy of $40,000 worth of the Bond fund. So my income and expense report is showing a negetive $6000. I figure if I show a sale of the $6000 cash, the income and expense report would show income of $40,000, and an expense of $40,000. How do I handle this problem? It turns out that certain groups of funds do update, although the date does not show it, while others do not.
