Cash Flow Forecast - Deposits listed after Withdrawals
I am using Money 07 Deluxe.
I have used the cash flow forecast for years (I had Money 04 previously).
It has always listed the deposits for any particular day before the
withdrawals for that day (the items from my Bills setup).
Somehow, sometime within the past few days, the forecast started listing my
deposits -last- for the day. If I click the Date header twice, the problem
remains... but if I switch the Time Period from whatever it's on (say 90
days) to something else (say 12 months) and then back again (to 90 days), the
deposits will then be listed first, as they should be.
The problem is that after I close and reopen Money, the deposits will again
be listed last. This ordering makes everything look wonky like I'm running
my balances low, even though I'm not.
Any ideas? This is driving me nuts!
P.S. - I schedule most of my bills to be paid on my paydays, so that the
forecast doesn't have giant spikes for my paychecks. This makes the balances
"smooth" out, so the graph better reflects the average balance of my account. Tag: Back up on thumb drive Tag: 233795
Money Folders
I would really like to see money folders implemented. Think of them as the
equivalent to mason jars or another such savings mechanism... I don't want
to have 30 actual bank accounts, but I'd like to allocate certain amounts to
future expenses. Folders within bank accounts, perhaps with associated
dollar amount goals and automatic allocation on deposits... Similar to what
you can do at Mvelopes.com.

switching investment charts in microsoft money plus deluxe
I'm using Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe 17.0
As in Money 2004 clicking on a listed investment on the Home tab goes
directly to a price chart. In the earlier program I could switch quickly
between investment charts using a drop down list on the chart page. In money
plus deluxe 17.0 I have to go back to Home first or the Portfolio tab. Can I

Just recently, when I try to enter transactions into my MM2006, I get the
message that

Income from Tax deferred Retirement account (Canadian RIFF)
I am using MONEY06.
I have set up a Retirment account using IRA (actually for a canadian
Retirement income fund-RIFF). And within the account I have purchased a CD
with annual interest payment. The IRA Retirement account correctly
categorizes the interst income as "TAX-DEFERRED INCOME".
Question:
When I start to withdraw from the retirement account, any amount withdrawn
will be deemed to be taxable pension income. What do I need to do in
registering such withdrawals so that I can see them as an income in an income
report.
I tried redeeming a portion of the CD, and transferring the sum to a bank
account. Such a transaction does not show up in any income report.
And there does not seem to be any way to attach a "Category" to a CD
redemption action.

Download old version
I have Money Deluxe 2004 installed on my PC and I have now lost the CD. I
need to format the hard drive. I am an international user so I cannot use the
newer versions of Money. I am even prepared to re-purchase the sofyware, but
I cannot find stock of the international version anywhere in South Africa.

OFX downloading into wrong account / Disabling online banking
When I download an OFX file from my financial institution for a
specific checking account the transactions in the OFX file are
automatically posted to another credit card account I have set up in
Money 2007 under the same FI as the checking account.
I have tried to disassociate the FI and the account by going to the
account setting of the credit card account and removing the FI from
the list but it gives me the message "a bank name must be specified
for on-line enabled accounts" How do I disable this account from on-

More questions about Money invoicing and reports...???
I thought I had this worked out but here I am with this problem again.
Let's use this example...I just recently got paid for an invoice that
consisted of 4 line items. The first 3 line items were all setup to the
Sales Income category. The 4th one is shipping and was setup to go into the
Shipping Paid category. I mark the invoice as paid and it puts a single
deposit into the accout I specify. So far so good.
I then have a custom report setup where I have all of my business categories
selected in the categories list (by the way, it drives me crazy that I can't
resize this window, and many others within Money..am I missing something?).
When I view the report it's absolutely perfect except for this problem...
It puts each of the line items on the invoice into their corresponding
categories on my report. So I see 3 separate Sales Income transactions and
then I also see a Shipping Paid transaction for this invoice on my report.
At the very bottom of the report, though, it's including the full invoice
payment as Unassigned income. So the reports actually includes the money
deposited for this invoice twice.
How can I make it not include the full invoice payments at the bottom since
it's already including each line item in their specific category? I've
looked at the categories and accounts tabs in the customization dialog of the
report but I don't see anything about this.

Trying to set up a mortgage account

I have been using money for years and generally have had no problem
setting up accounts.
I am using Money deluxe and business 2003
I receive an error when setting up this account - I receive a window
that gives me my loan information to confirm
when I do - the error reads this account was not created - there was
an error setting it up
the operation cannot be performed
and no further information?? what should I look for?

Forgot password in Money 2004
I forgot my password in Money 2004. I removed the program and deleted all
the files and the folder and the installed 2004 from the CD. When it was
complete I started the program and it immediatley asked for the password
again. I thought that by starting over I would have at least been able to

What is the value of this ? For example, it exports a total dividend
amount,but doesn't break it down by financial institution,so you have to

Downloading Tranactions
I've installed Money Plus trial. It appears to update ok but I never have
items to review
even though I know I have made, say, an atm withdrawal. I added the
transaction to the
registry on saturday and should have 'cleared' but MOney still show 0 items
to review.

Problems after undoing a spin off
I'm using money 2007 and entered data for a spin off for a stock that I have
owned for some time and has seen spin-offs before (I use the Spin-off
wizard). I entered the wrong split infomation so attempted to "undo" the
spin-off by going to "Investment transactions" and deleted the transactions
that Money generated.
Now I have an interesting problem: The stock no longer appears in the
Account summary or Portfolio Manager, yet Money knows exactly how many
shares I still own - If I enter a test sell transation for the stock, Money
behaves as expected.
I can generate an "Portfolio value by investment accounts" report and the
stock is there but the cost basis is shown as $0. An Investment transaction
report shows a price and quanity for all buy transactions.
I'm confused why Money seems confused.
Any ideas how I get Money to display this stock in the Portfolio manager.
Another odd thing: When looking at the account register for the investment
account where this stock is held, then looking viewing the "Account Summary"
and then selecting "Account Update: Just let me quickly update how much I
own", nothing happens. With other investment accounts, everything behaves as
expected.

Bank transactions download to wrong account
I have 5 accounts setup in MS Money, all for the same bank. (Charter One). I
download transactions all the time for 4 of the accounts with no problem.
However, there's one account that always downloads into the wrong account in
MS Money.
The transactions for that account always download to the first account in my
"Bank Accounts" list in Money. If I rename the accounts to change the
order, the transactions download to whichever account comes first
alphabetically.
I've had this problem with prior verions of Money, and was hoping the latest
version would magically fix it. I'm running Money Plus Deluxe which I just
purchased and installed in January and I still have the same problem. I
tried running the "repair" option in Money and that didn't help.
When I download, I select the Microsoft Money format choice provided by the
bank.
Any help would be appreciated.

The generated invoices you get are very nice, but, when you email them they
go as text and look pretty nasty. Does anyone know how to send them as other

Microsoft Money Plus Home & Business--crashes on startup of comput
My boss has a copy of Money Plus Home & Business that will not open. When we
try, it gets an error in the msofd.dll file (so it's not that Logitech
problem that is known). The error signature is as follows:

ModVer: 17.0.0.724 Offset: 000433d1
I can not find any information on this problem and he's trying to get tax
information from the file.
Insight for Money also crashes.
I am also not happy that you guys charge $35 per incident if we don't have
the PID for the program, which we can not get because we can't even get into
the program. He just got this program and installed it. Repairing the

HELP....PLEASE Update not complete
I have been using money essentials for a few years now with no problem. I
get a pop up that it is time to renew. I d/l the new ? version of Essentials
now I cant update any of my accounts. I tried to do what the support page
says and stop the services to set them up again but after I do that it tries
to go to any of my accounts and immediately pops up "update not complete"
like it never even goes to any site. After three hours on the phone being
bounced back and forth for three hours from digital river to Money tech they
wanted to charge me forty dollars for support. When I told them I would just
cancel and get quicken they said they would go ahead and try to help me, but
by then my cordless phone, the only one I have was about to go dead, guess I

Money 2005 - Budget Tab Hangs / Freezes
Hi,
I am having a problem whereby, whenever I goto the Budget tab, Money
freezes/hangs and takes up 100% of one of my CPU's.
I have been able to get it over the a basic budget, by removing all my
accounts one at a time from tools -> settings -> budget settings -> budget
accounts. then changing to basic. However if I have multiple accounts it
freezes whenver I try to do anything with the budget.

Chase has verified that my downloads are occurring successfully, but
Money does not process them. I sent an email to Money support and
they never asked for information, but sent this reply:

Microsoft Money 2005 not picking up data
I have recently bought a new computer (still with XP) and a) loaded my copy
of MM 2005 Standard to it and b) loaded the data files for MM which I copied
from the old computer. But I cannot get the program to pick up the data -
and of course, support from Microsoft ended last month! Can anyone suggest
what I should do to get the data to connect with the software program?

Live ID
Like an idiot, I tried to set up my MSM Money account to get online updates.
This required me to create a Live ID (hotmail username) and start typing in
my password whenever I run Money. As I should have expected, the automatic
updates function is horribe, so I de-activated it. But I don't know how to
stop Money from requiring a password whenever I log in now. Anyone know how
to de-activate that?

Money 2k8 Install Problem
I've seen one or two other posts that mention this problem, but no
real definitive solutions to it.
In trying to install Money 2008, I receive an error message:
"autotun.inf.file is missing or corrupt".
I've tried to install on my home laptop, home desktop and work
desktop. Get the same error message every place.
Money 2006 had worked brilliantly until my '2 years' period expired.
Figured I'd upgrade to 2008 since it's 'free after rebate' from
Staples. I'm on XP machines, with 2006 uninstalled on the one machine
that it was on.

Portfolio Buy Calculation Money 2004
If I send a mutual fund a check for $2,500.00 and their statement states
that I bought 48.819 shares at 51.21 Money calculates a cost of $2,500.02
and puts that amount in my check register and my portfolio.
Is there any way to force Money to accept the actual cost?

Problem with Money--crashes on system startup and when you try to go
I can get the exact version of Money this PC has (this just got handed
to me and I can't get in touch with the owner of the computer), but
the AppVer is 17.0.0.724.
Everytime this system starts up, I get an error in Insights in Money.

What you are doing is creating a service.

Better form to track asset
Hi this is a suggestion related to tracking asset.
Let say the common one will be Car. If we could track under the asset of the
car: insurance, repair, gas, milleage etc....
Basic example
Car repair
when we tag expense to car repair category, a form will help us input data
like cost, taxes, milleage, date etc....
We could have the same is the asset car were we could enter depreciation in
term of milleage or year.
Those will open door to report on how much my car cost me per Kilometer.
This is pretty usefull when the car has some years of service and we would
like to know if it cost less to buy a new one or to make rapair to the old one
It could also help us evaluate if we should buy or rent the car
etc...
This is one of the area i would like to see money enhance.

Investment account transfert
Hi all
I try out the new money 2008 (v17 Plus Deluxe)
I create investment group account with multiple Mutual fund.
I would like to register a transfert between one mutual fund to another one.
When i register activities i have transfert in/out.
But when doing so, i reveive a message saying that i cannot do this from the
same investement group.
How can i transfert amount OR quantity from one mutual fund to anoter.
If possible i would like to have the transaction written in both mutual fund

Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe v17.0 and missing 401(k) fund from man
We had recently upgraded from Microsoft Money 2006 to Money Plus Deluxe
v17.0. All accounts/transactions seemed to have converted just fine. However,
one 401(k) fund does not appear under Money Plus' 401(k) manager.
The fund that does not appear under the manager is the only account that has
online services previously enabled.

How does home improvements increase the value of the asset?

Capital gains
I sold all of my remaining shares of a mutual fund using the average cost
basis. Why would the amount of the capital gains for that account on the
income and spending report sorted by account be different from the amount on
the capital gains report sorted by account? That account has no other

capital gains for money market funds
Money market funds aren't supposed to have capital gain distributions, but
this year two of mine did. The first (USAA) downloaded the transactions, and
they appear as capital gains, which is good. The second (Fidelity) did not
download, and I can't enter them manually, because capital gains are not an
accepted. (For this reason, I also can't edit the first transactions.) I'm
using 2007 Deluxe, by the way.
Any ideas how to enter this, so my tax software reports match the 1099's? I
tried manually editing a qif file, but Money changed it. Money won't allow
changing an investment type from mutual fund to money market (or vice versa).
One idea I had was to enter a dummy mutual fund investment, record the
capital gain distribution in that one, and record a buy in the money market
fund, but that seems hokey.
Anyone else have ideas?

past trends in cash flow forecast
running money 2007 premier and am trying to disable the cash flow forecast
from using past trend data and only use my budget data in the advanced
budget. there is even a check box to allow money to only use "amounts from
my current advanced budget" but it is greyed out and i can't select it.

Money 2007 Installation Error
My PC runs Windows XP and Money 2007 gives me an error during installation:
"Setup was unable to install some of the components needed to run Money. Try
installing Money again". Of course, running install again gets the same
