I use MS Money 2002 and back it up to a floppy every 14 days, it takes 2
disks and is a hassle.

Can you do your back up to one of those little cards you put in the usb port
instead of a floppy.

I run XP.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Bob

Bob,

Further to Cal's earlier response:

USB drives (or DVD/CD-RW maybe?) are indeed the way to go. Not only
don't you have to fool with floppies anymore, they are large enough to
facilitate a much more useful backup routine.

If you decide to use USB or DVD/CD, I would suggest you start backing
up each day that you update your Money file. Create different folders
or file names on the backup drive to represent each update (a week or
two's worth should be sufficient - then start overwriting the
earliest).

Many times it is several days before one discovers a problem has
occurred in their Money file. A "rolling" backup ultimately permits
one to choose from a selection of restore points.

Speaking from experience there'll be no more worrying about
maintaining your data!

One last point: if you use USB I would backup first to your hard drive
and then copy (drag-n-drop) the backup file to the appropriate
location on your USB. The backup you make on your hard drive can be
overwritten each time to save space.

Good Luck!

Regards,
JB

Thank you very much, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but am going
to try to do it.
