Ryan,
Further to Dick's earlier response:
Choice #2 in
http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=149 is definitely what
you're looking for.
Think of each of the checks as a deposit to yourself before you take
them to the bank. If you either have or create a "cash" account in
M04, you would enter each check as a deposit to that account with the
corresponding payee.
When you go to download your statement from the bank, categorize the
lump sum deposit as a transfer into your bank account from the "cash"
account.
When you view each payee you'll see only the individual entries to the
"cash" account!
If you want, you can even have a unique "cash" account just for this
purpose. The balance in the "cash" account would always be zero
except for the time between your deposit and statement download.
Hope this helps!
Regards,
JB
