Did you download and install Microsoft Windows XP/ Office 2003/=20
Publisher 2003/ Plus Digital Media or purchase and install from a CD?

I am really frustrated and confused over Microsoft's=20
activation policy on Money 2004 Deluxe Upgrade from Trial.=20
I have attempted to reinstall Money 2004 Deluxe from the=20
file I had downloaded and saved when I first purchased the=20
upgrade. When I entered my activation code it stated the=20
maximum number of times I could activate had been=20
exceeded, and I would have to purchase the product again.=20
It's only been four months since I purchased the upgrade=20
online. I thought this was just a small problem that could=20
be corrected by a call to customer service, since this=20
activation code had only been used to install the product=20
on one computer.
Boy was I wrong. After speaking to four different customer=20
service people, I got the same answer. There is nothing=20
they can do to let me reactivate using the number I=20
received when I purchased Money 2004, or could not give me=20
another number to activate now so I could have access to=20
me file. However, the last two customer service=20
representatives were willing to make a "one-time=20
exception" and send me a cd with Money on it. (The first=20
one told me I was out of luck and would have to purchase=20
it again, treating me as if I was some sort of criminal=20
trying to get out of paying).
Sending me the cd is good, but there is no way to access=20
my money file for the next week- or however long it takes=20
to receive it. They said it was my fault for not=20
understanding the EULA. I thought as long as you installed=20
it on the same computer, you could reactivate it.
I've never had this problem with any other product=20
activation from Microsoft (Windows XP/ Office 2003/=20
Publisher 2003/ Plus Digital Media). Why is Money 2004=20
different?
