    - unable to install MSN money investment toolbox I am not sure if this is the right group for it, but I have not been able to install the MSN Money Investment Toolbox with IE 6.0. I have SP2 for Windows XP. I keep seeing the red X instead of the chart. I tried all the options suggested in MSN help, cookies, trust sites, security setting, remove/reinstall, etc., but none worked. I then tried to look for "support" but got no where. Any suggestion?     - Duplicate transactions from updating online I have searched and searched for answers and I can't find any. I tried calling Microsoft but they tell me to contact my computer manufacturer to answer software problems that they didn't even give me. I searched the chat and I keep seeing you respond to everyone and was wondering if you could help. I have a few problems. 1. I keep getting duplicate transactions from my bank statement when I update online. I bank with Bank of America. It is frustrating to go through your account and edit all the transactions when they keep appearing after each update. Then it will do the same thing all over again. 2.It won't let me access Wachovia 401k online update. It keeps saying account setup is unavailable when I try to initially set it up. I can manually find the funds and make my own account but I have to check every paycheck to see how much is going in and the percentage it is getting allocated to each fund. It should be simpler the other way. I have downloaded the trial version of 05 deluxe and updated from Money 2004 Basic. Is there anything I can do or am I just hopeless and lost.     - Cannot Print Portfolio Money Premium 2005 Suject self-explanatory. Print preview is also grayed out. Numerous other little gotchas relative to account balances. How did it get out of the useability lab. Some of it is as nonintuitive as it comes. This thing does not look like it was ready for prime-time on its release date.     - Quicken file conversion I am getting the following error when I try to convert my Quicken 2004 file to Money 2005 Premium. It is not that big of a file (about 6 MB) and I got plenty of disk space and memory...     - 2 Investments 1 Symbol I seem to be having this problem since the upgrade to Premium 2005. When investments are downloaded from Fidelity, one comes in as "DTv Group Fund" which is the same thing as DTV.     - Backing up In 2004 I couls backup to a floppy each time and the new file would overwrite the old file. In 2005 this does not happen.     - After install of Money 2005 Premium 2 Years of BillPay not availab I just finished install Money 2004 Premium and decided to take advantage of the 2 years of free Bill Pay service through MSN.     - NewBee Question We are attempting to use MS Money to track spending per category. We are stumped on how to properly generate reports based on these categories. The issue is how to handle credits. For example, lets say I buy $300 of clothing at the department store. I then return $100 of it for credit. When the credit gets posted I apply this to the exact same category as the $300 clothing expense. Since the credit is the opposite of the expense, when I do a report I expect them to both be there and the net of $200 is what I care about. It doesn't do this.     - Oh Joy! Now I can't download ANY transactions! I solved a problem like this that I was having. I installed a file monitor and I saw when I downloaded tranactions they were going into a temporary internet folder. I also saw that mnyimprt was trying to read in from the wrong file during the import. It needs to be research more, but I think the downloaded file had a name collision and the OS automatically renamed it to something that mnyimprt did not expect. The workaround I suggest is to go in to IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Files. I also deleted cookies, but that should not matter.     - Balance issue I have Money05, I download transactions directly from my bank. This was working fine, balance in money matched the balance at the bank. Once I switched to the advanced register view in Money, the balance is off by about 20k. Example, bank balance = 500 and money balance and register balance in money = 20,500.     - Rename Fund Money Premium 2005 I am trying to rename an investment called Fedilty US Bond Index to Fidelity Us Bd Index. I'm R-Clicking in the Portfolio Manager, and when I try I get the error message "The Name or symbol Fidelity Us Bd Index is already being used for an existing investment. Please enter a different name." I can find no reference to this investment anywhere in my file, even in closed accounts. Where might it be picking this up from? I think I did enter this originally a year ago, and entered it wrong as a Stock instead of a Mutual Fund, which is why I re-entered it. However I can't find any record of this name??     - Please help! How do you increase an expense in your budget without affecting the past reports? OK imagine I have a budget in which I've been spending 100$ per month on movies. Last month I spent $120 on movies so I was over my budget by $20. Now I decide "I think I will up my spending on movies to $140 per month." I make the change in my budget, now when I look back at how I've done it calculates at $140 the whole way back through my money file and so it looks like I actually saved $20! This is NOT what happened. I want to increase the expense from a certain date not apply it retropsectively to the whole budget! How do you stop this from happening?????     - How can I track the price of a commodity e.g. gold that I bought? How there I recently bought some physical gold (nicely stored away) I bought it $412 and its now $436 - all good. I set it up in M04 aas though it was a a stock (quantity for number of ounces and the price which I manually update). All good.     - I've had it with this beta software... I upgraded to 2005 solely to find that the budget feature had finally been debugged...turns out it's even worse in 2005 than it was in 2004. I'm continually dealing with duplicated budget items that cannot be deleting without workarounds which make things even more complicated. The reason you use a piece of financial software is so you can accurately budget and maintain a clear picture of your forseeable financial situation.     - transactions keep downloading over...and over...and over Ok, I've had a lot of problems other people have been talking about. I've finally got to a point where Money 2005 is working....sort of. I have a Washington Mutual Checking Account. Each day, it automatically downloads transactions and enters them into my register. Most are matched up with transactions I've entered. Only a few do I need to enter as new transactions. After I have matched and accepted the new transactions everything looks ok. However, the next time Money updates my checking account, it downloads the exact same transactions plus any new ones for the day. Again they are matched to the transactions in my register and I have to accept them all again. This happens over...and over...and over. I think I've figured out that if I rename the payee of the downloaded transaction to something more meaningfull that what the bank has, Money thinks it's a new transaction and downloads it again.     - Bank One/Chase download problems. $2004 Premium I have been getting a bunch of "starting Balance adjustments when I download this credit card. Three or four so far this month. I balance my credit cards monthly, payments and charges are downloaded correctly. Why would the starting balance change several times between balancing? After downloading the update Money 2005, I could not get into MSN Bill pay, even using internet browser. Support people from MSN Bill Pay told me that somehow the link between Microsoft Passport and MSN bill pay was corrupted by Microsoft Money 2005, after the install of Money 2005. MSN Bill Pay support people told me that THIS IS A BIG problem that happening to many MSN Bill Pay users. They cannot fix it on their side, and Money 2005 must come up with the fix.     - Pay Slip and Net Pay How do I get the payslip total to register as the net pay? I am working with the budget and have set up my net pay there but because I use the pay slip function to record my pay, there is no corresponding net pay coming through. Therefore, the comparison reports are not correct (zero in net pay). I don't really want to set up my budget based on my gross pay as I'd rather keep my payslip deductions out of the budget equation. I wanted all the payslip detail so I could report and reconcile this info separately. I hope this makes some sort of sense. I'm using an OEM Australian Edition 2004.     - Tracking project expenses I'm using Microsoft Money 2004 Standard Edition, and would like to "hear" your suggestions on how to track personal project expenses (for example: moving, a particular trip, a dating - why not?, and so on). Right now I have been dealing with this using an account created for the particular project and registering expenses as a split: the actual expense and a counterpart negative transfer from the real account being used. In that way I'm able to inquire the expenses in the project account, while keeping it with a cleared balance (0.00), since it isn't a real account.     - Money 2005 Crashes on Startup...please Help My Money 2005 Premium is crashing at startup everytime i attempt to login to my money file. This just started happenining this weekend, and was working just fine prior. I can create a new file and log in without any problems, but when i attempt to log into my Money file, the application will crash as it attempts to open the homepage.     - Problem with converting Quicken to Money. I am a new user of Money, I just installed it and converted all of my Quicken files over. When I began to enter my recipts I was warned that there was already a weekly "recurring payment" related to that receipt. It ends up that more then half my receipts got the same warning. I was not able to set up online services for Peopleâ??s Bank in 2005. I was
able to do so in MSN money. I then merged the accounts. After a few days
the connection no longer appeared.

This is the first version of money that supposedly supports direct access at
Peopleâ??s bank.
Whatâ??s the problem?
