still get 2755 error on 6.1 upgrade

went to that eventvwr.msc to get the details. here they are

1)Product: MSN Messenger 6.1 -- The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2755. The arguments are: 1601, C:\DOCUME~1\Paul\LOCALS~1\TEMP_~1\IXP000.TMP\MsnMsgs.Msi,

i then get messenger error 1603 about 2 mins late

I don't have an installer folder within my WINNT folder, I have tried every fix so far and none have worked....PLEASE HELP ME.

Greetings Jahan,

Do you happen to be on the Windows Installer 3 beta (or have installed it otherwise)? If so,
simply go to Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel, remove Windows Installer 3 and then
try again.

its not showing up...the INTALLER PACK 3 isn't there..

anything else i could do???

U could have the mblaster virus if u have WINDOWS XP. do
this:

Go here:

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

If a security certificate pops up then click "YES"
Click on "SCAN NOW" then choose your operating System
Download all the "CRITICAL UPDATES AND SERVICE PACKS"



If ur pc shut's down (say while you're downloading the
patch), click Start, then Run, then type "cmd" and click
OK. Then on the command line, type:
shutdown -a

then push ENTER

This will abort the shutdown and allow you to install the
updates.

Then You have to disable system restore like this:

log on ur pc as Administrator

Click Start.
Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Select "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System
Restore on all drives" check box
Click Apply. Then a messager will appear. CLICK "YES"
then OK

You can then remove any worm that causes this that may
have infected your PC using this tool:

i've tried all that

none of it works..

please suggest something else.
