Jonathan,
I was having the same difficulty getting Windows Live Messnger to load. I
loaded the windows installer and then went back to your link but it still
will not load. I don't get an error message, I get the Windows Live Messenger
box, a green bar starts across and then the box just vanishes, and never
loads. I want to jut the I'm using Win XP Pro, SP2.

The following site lists the reasons why Live programs will not
install on Windows' server OS using the small setup file provided by
Microsoft, and you can get the individual MSI installation files as
well, which should work: http://itjogger.wordpress.com/
