sending text is slow plz help!

for some reason after i type in what i want to say to the
person and hit enter to send it, it takes about 5 or 6
seconds to actually appear in the chat window. when its
sending for about 5-6 and somtimes up to 8-9 seconds i
cant do anything with msn messenger. i ahev to wait that
long period of time before i can type again or open up the
contact list window or click on anything to do with the
messenger. i can do other things while i wait. messenger
is the only things that is affected. its like msn freezes
for a few seconds as soon as i send my text to the person.
please help me fix this problem
