    - Post here if XP to ME/98 works My testing indicates that MSN Messenger 6.0 XP to ME/98 (& cable to dial-up) "Audio" does NOT work. I can use "Audio" with an XP to XP (& Cable to Cable) no problems. Webcam functions OK. Many other posts suggest I am not the only one with this problem!     - MSN Messenger 6 video problem I have 2 video devices attached to my Win2k pc running Messenger 6.0. One of them is a video capture device and the other is a webcam. However, I have a feeling the video displayed in Messenger is from my video capture device and not the webcam. How do I select the video device that I to use?     - Messenger Software Idea I would like to post a suggestion that I reckon would be a cool feature in MSN Messenger 6 (for when it comes out soon). What I would like to see in Messenger is it having a feature where it can tell me how many contacts I have online displayed on the "Welcome Screen" for XP users. (just like windows does when it shows you how many new emails you have - you know what I mean?). Is this possible? (or already been suggested?)     - Contacts in 2 groups I searched the forums but didn't find anything on this. I have a few contacts that I have added that show up in two different groups when they are online. For example, when offline they show in my offline contacts. When they go online the will be in the Friends group and the Coworkers group. If I delete the contact they get deleted from both groups.     - keeps logging me off i try to log into windows messenger (v4.7 i think) and everytime i try it logs me out of my internet connection (i have cable internet (shaw)). it doesn't matter what account name i use it keeps doing it. if i go on my other computer (which has msn 6.0) and try logging on on there it does almost the same thing; instead of logging me completely off the internet it just doesn't allow internet connection to msn. on the 6.0 one it tells me that my firewall does not allowe direct connection to the internet, and i dont have the right proxy settings. thing is i haven't changed anything in either area and i can still get into a working IE. this just started happening, both systems were working fine before. i wonder if its a virus i got, or something's wrong with my internet connection, or if something's wrong with msn 6.0 or what. please help Tag: MSN 6 not responding...     - cant sign in hotmail and msn6 Hi, my Msn Messenger and hotmail are not working. It won't let me sign in and i cant still sign into my hotmail account. I treat with severals accounts and nothing.     - Messenger 6.0 no audio communications I cannot get audio communication to work with MSN 6.0 but the webcam works great. I am using Norton Personal Firewall on windows XP home edition. I have a cable connection without a router. I have been tring to communicate with other users who are also using messenger 6.0 and we always get the message that "the audio conversation has ended". I have tried disabling NPF and disabling the windows xp firewall but nothing seems to work. The audio works great in the tuning wizard and when using yahoo messenger. Is there any easy way to troubleshoot this problem? Is there some kind of "test user" that I can connect to to determine that my PC is set up correctly and maybe the problems are with the other users? If I logon MSN messenger 6.0 and windows messenger 4.7 with different user names I am able to create a audio conversation with myself.     - Can't send a message to a certain person on messenger Hi, I'm having trouble sending a message to a person who hasn't blocked me (because I can see their online status and they are a friend of mine). I send the message with Windows Messenger 4.7 and Messenger 3.5 for Mac and get the same error. After about 4 minutes after I send the message it comes back with "The following message could not be delivered to all recipients:" and it doesn't get through. It seems like the only answers are > 1: Have you got a firewall. > 2: Have you got a Router, etc. etc. 90% of these guys had voice on MSN 5 with no problems, but not on MSN 6? It seems to me that this issue is being evaded by Microsoft.I myself would like to use MSN 6 as layout & video is far superior to MSN 5, but until this problem is resolved I can't.     - Smiley database. I'm looking for a soft that allow us to add easily a list of smilies. I could not find it, so I'm trying to make it. Pictures are put in : "C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxxxx\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\xxxxxxxxxxx\CustomEmoticons" with the .tmp extension .tmp (but they are pictures) In the previous non-official beta, it was i file called map.txt that was an XML file linking to a .tmp file that was also an XML file with the definitions of the smilies.. In the "beta public" version, these files are missing and are replaced by a binary file : map.dat.     - Tv card and webcam (getting the tv card picture) I'm using ms messenger 6.0 preview. I got a tv card (haupauge tv-theather) and a webcam (aiptek mega pen) in my computer. When I try to use webcam in messenger it just gets the picture from tv card. Is it possible to select video source to get the webcam's picture ?     - MSN Sign-In refuses Password, Other Passport accesses don't Consistantly having trouble connecting MSN Messenger. Normally I would expect it just to be the cause of a bad route to the server, but I realised that when it tells me it cannot complete the sign-in process, the reason it gives is that either my account doesn't exist or my password is incorrect. I have used the same passport account and password to access many MS services without any problem and have retried extreme numbers of times and so am sure that the password IS correct and that the account DOES exist.     - Can't stay logged in! Hi. I've tried various different versions of MSN (including 6) and none of them can keep me logged in for about more than a minute. I don't know what it is, I have no problems connecting, it's just staying connected so I don't think it can be a firewall! Every time I close my session in WinXP Pro or any other
user in my computer close session, a window appear saying
msn6 is not responding. The session close or If I click
close task now is faster.
But, something is wrong.
I uninstalled msn6 and reinstalled again, but, same
problem.
Any Ideas ?

I would love to try to figure out what is causing this issue.

When the window appears saying messenger wasn't responding, what do you
click? Does any other window appear after that asking you to submit
information to Microsoft?
