    - What Is The Difference Between Videoconference and Webcam? Can you help explain the difference beewen these two options please? Is there some additional functionality? I can get the webcam option to show video at both ends - no audio - but get nothing with videoconference. The message is something like "there is a problem with the other computer".     - Chat error in msg 6.2 A couple of days ago Messenger was running fine then it started taking longer than usual to send messages to friends. Instead of instantaneously sending text the windows freeze for about 3-4 seconds before sending making it impossible to click on any other messenger windows and hard to carry on numerous conversations. It seems to work like i have a slow connection and computer which isn't the case. To try to fix i have removed all the files and re- installed messenger and even ran anti-virus.     - MSN fails to start When I click the shortcut, or the actual exe file, I get the error "Ths application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem". No matter how many times I reinstall / reboot, it won't work - and no older versions seem to work either.     - Windows XP SP2 and MSN Messenger 6.2 I have just installed SP2 and found the MSN Messenger 6.2 video conferences became jerky. I found that uninstalling QoS resolved the problem. Any danger in doing that uninstall and can it be reinstalled without using Restore? Simply unchecking the QoS box with my Dialup DSL connection didn't seem to solve the problem, but uninstalling it under the Local Area Connection was what fixed the problem.     - Small Problem MSN Chat After Installing SP2 Evening all. Since downloading and installing Service Pack 2 a couple days ago, I find that I cannot access the MSN Chat rooms via MSN Messenger OR Internet Explorer. I am paying for "Hotmail Extra Storage" to get access to the chat rooms. The main orange colored chat home page comes on fine. I click the "Sign In .net" button at the top of the page. I then choose a category on the left of the chat window, and the rooms list appears. I click on a room, the download screen with the "I see the smiley face" comes up. I click on the smiley face, I get logged back out and returned to the chat home page. the Sign In .net button reverts from "Sign out" back to "Sign In". So, the main crux of my problem is, using MSN Messenger itself, or Internet Explorer, I cannot get to the chat rooms, keep getting "Signed Out" before I get there. I don't think it is a firewall issue, because I can talk to my friends on my messenger list just fine, and oddly, the chat rooms work just fine if I access via Mozilla. I've monkeyed around with the settings in "Internet Options" with no results. No problem with using Mozilla, but sometimes I would like to use Messenger itself to access the rooms.     - one sided audio problem Hi there, I am having a problem with one of my 2 contacts. We can BOTH connect to other people and have 2 way audio conversations perfectly but when we connect with each other I can only hear them, they cannot hear me although my mic is working fine. I was running a D-Link router/firewall and thought that was the problem so I removed it and am now running the latest Zonealarm.     - messenger 6.2 sounds Messenger 6.2 wont let me set the sound for when i have a new contact come online. I have always had it set to 'tada', and when 6.2 installed it reset that, and I went in and tried to change it, and it goes thru the proceedings just like its supposed to, but when I go back in or a new contact comes on the original sound is played.     - Video Conf. I'm running a small peer to peer network. My three computers all run on XP Pro along with MSN Messenger 6.2. I recently switched from DSL to Cable because of the improved speed. My router is a LINKSYS Cable/DSL 4 port router. I'm trying to do video conferencing and am having no success at all. The LINKSYS people tell me they have a built in firewall and I would have to do port forwarding which I did and still have no luck. If I connect my computer directly into the modem than it works so it's safe to say it's the router. Windows firewall is turned off and Norton's firewall is disabled.
