Hi
The other day for no reason when i opened messenger, it
said that 5 people had added me to their contacts list,
and a runtime error popped up saying the runtime had to
close or something, in the program c\program files\msn
messenger\msnsgr.exe.
This kept happening even after a reinstall, so i
installed version 5 on my pc, and it works ok. However if
i go to options->security and look at my block list,
those 5 people that tried to add me i cannot delete from
the list!
I ran norton on my pc and adaware but didnt do anything!!
any ideas, its quite scary!

Greetings Joe,

Anyone can add you on Messenger -- and if you're using the same Passport as the e-mail
address you're using posting here, it could be lifted here (or even easily guessed).
Unfortunately this is how Messenger works, and although you can remove them off your main
contact list (doesn't even sound like you added them), in the Privacy tab in Messenger's
options you can't remove them until they remove you off their main contact list. This is
quite certainly *not* a virus.

We'll need to know the exact error message that you saw (you may have to click the 'click
here' link in the 'sorry for the inconvenience window') in order to assist with the other
problem.

Ok let me explain further.
When i open Messenger 6, an error comes up saying
Microsoft c + + library runtime error. Then says it has
occured in the program c:\program files\ msn messenger\
msnmsgr.exe, at the same time 5 boxes come up saying they
have added me to their list. The main messenger window
just displays the animated thingy as if it was trying to
connect. I click on the people who
