Greetings Joe,
Anyone can add you on Messenger -- and if you're using the same Passport as the e-mail
address you're using posting here, it could be lifted here (or even easily guessed).
Unfortunately this is how Messenger works, and although you can remove them off your main
contact list (doesn't even sound like you added them), in the Privacy tab in Messenger's
options you can't remove them until they remove you off their main contact list. This is
quite certainly *not* a virus.
We'll need to know the exact error message that you saw (you may have to click the 'click
here' link in the 'sorry for the inconvenience window') in order to assist with the other
problem.
