Can anyone please help its starting to do my head in. It started when i was
using version 7 and i have recently upgraded to 7.5 and not had the problem
till now. The problem ive got/getting is that i cannot sign into msn
messenger while Norton internet security is enabled the firewall is set to
allow messenger to access the net but doesnt seem to want to connect. The
only way i can get it to connect is to disable Norton which defeats the
object of having it on my comp.. ANY help is greatfully recieved

Greetings,

Try removing Messenger's access to Norton and then setting it up again (well, it should
simply ask when you run Messenger again); in Norton world this does wonders.

Tried as suggested ave removed access and re-enabled it and still the same
problem exists. it wont sign on with Norton enabled.Nor once it has finally
signed in if im lucky does it let me open my mailbox. As soon as i disable
Norton both work fine.No other programs are affected.Surely Microsoft can
come up with an answer to this problem,It is rather/Very annoying as i use
msn to chat to family

Hi,

If Norton is blocking Messenger, there's nothing Microsoft can do about it; you'll have to
complain to Symantec.
