My friend had msn messenger but uninstalled it. He's tried

Greetings Jean,

Can you be more specific about what is exactly happening (error messages, etc.)?

Hello Jonathan, thank you for your time. I will do my best
to explain the problem. My friend runs Windows 98 and had
MSN messenger. He tried to upgrade to Messenger 6 and
things went wrong so he uninstalled it. He has IE6. He
tried to download it again, after deleting it from
Add/Remove programs, but when he clicks on the download
button, the grey download box does not appear for him to
open the file,or save to disk, but a message says that it
is installing now, but it doesn't. He cannot find any
files or folders for MSN Messenger anywhere on his
computer. He has a .net passport id and can access his
hotmail account with no difficulty. I am tearing my hair
out trying to help, so will be grateful for any help you
can give, so I don't end up bald!
