 - cant get email in outlook Since I installed msn messaenger 6.0 today and since i cant recieve any email in outlook express. When I run send and recieve in outlook express it says i have messages waiting but has an error "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F" I have tried uninstalling messenger but that doesnt fix it.  - Online/offline integration w Outlook Express not working after upgrade to MSN 6 In older versions of Messenger I could see who was online in Outlook Express, I had my adress book in the left hand bottom corner and there it would show the blue and red contacts.  - Email address change Because of 150 emails sent through messenger to me with=20 viruses, i decided to change my email address in=20 messenger. Having gone through the process i have come=20 accrossed a problem, i am unable to verify my email=20 address. Every time i open up messenger i get the=20 regulation prompt reminding me i need to verify the email=20 address, every time i try i get "Microsoft=AE .NET Passport=20 was temporarily unable to complete your request.  - Windows Messenger Disconnection!!!  - You have logged in from another location ???? Ok I have logged on MSN a few times and got a message saying: You have been logged out of MSN as you have logged in from another location. At first I thought I had been hacked and someone had logged in my MSN account from another location. So I quickly changed my password and Secret question. But it has happened quite a few times now and everytime I have changed both my passwaord and secret question. SO can anyone help me ? I dont undertsnad why it keeps logging me out and doing this ?  - WebCam - cannot see myself anymore Hi, I have a Logtech Pro 3000 which worked fine with MSN 6 when intially downloaded it about 2-3 months ago. Only since yesterday, I found it bizarre during a video conference session where the receiver could see me, but I could no longer see myself as my screen was blank. About every minute or so, there would be a quick flash of my image which last for about half a second. My cam still works fine with Netmeeting and Yahoo. I have not done any major upgrades recently, nor have I installed any new software so I'm not sure what could have caused this problem. I even uninstalled MSN and then reinstalled it, but this did not solve the problem either. "Web-Cam settings" has always shown a blank-grey screen ever since the beginning when I first used MSN 6, but I could still see myself when I was in a video conference, so it didn't bother me. I have tried to upgrade to 6 before but when i try to run the program (after it has appeared to have installed correctly) i get a momentary egg timer (like it is loading) then it never actually starts Messenger.  - MSN 6 really screwed up, virus? Hi The other day for no reason when i opened messenger, it said that 5 people had added me to their contacts list, and a runtime error popped up saying the runtime had to close or something, in the program c\program files\msn messenger\msnsgr.exe. This kept happening even after a reinstall, so i installed version 5 on my pc, and it works ok. However if i go to options->security and look at my block list, those 5 people that tried to add me i cannot delete from the list!  - creative webcam not functioning correctly with msn messenger 6 Hello, I have windows XP and have recently bought a creative webcam. In the messenger Audio/video tuning wizard , it shows me that my webcam is functioning ok, however my friends tell me that they cannot see me, (but I see their webcam images) and when I go to check in my" web camera settings", the screen is blank ie no image.  - Cannot sign in Ever since MSN Messenger 6.0 has come out, I have used it with no problem at all. And earyler today I signed out to do something else, then I went back to sign in and I got this message: "We were unable to sign you in to the .NET Messenger Service, possibly because of a problem with your Internet connection. Please try again later" Now my internet is working fine, normal speeds and all. I did not update Messenger to my knowledge, and for sure not my firewall, BUT I did a windows update, something may have been in there. I didnt pay to much attention, I was in a rush. Whatever I updated was put up in the past 3 weeks, since I last updated. My account works fine Windows Messenger, but I realy dont like it. I tryed restarting Messenger, and restarting my computer.  - Messenger 6.0 One-Way audio problem Hi: I have Messenger 6.0 installed on Win98 behind of a LinkSys router. When I tried to talk with my friend, the connection can be established easily, but I can't hear what he is saying, he can hear me. We can use netmeeting to connect with 2-way communication without any problem. So I think there is no problem with my audio card and microphone. Seems to me there is some problems with my router.  - Can't uninstall MSN Messenger 4.7 Hi, I have Windows XP Pro. I have been attempting to install MSN Messenger 6.0, but when I do, 4.7 remains installed and continues to run even while 6.0 does. I tried uninstalling 4.7 from the Add/Remove Programs applet (it's the version that comes with XP), but it remains on the computer and continues to run anyway. When I try to use Messenger, it displays an error message and says that I have already signed in at another location. When I try to shut 4.7 down from the system bar icon, it refused and displays a message that some other program is using it. I have also tried to shut it down from the windows task manager. It seems to shut down, but when I try to connect using 6.0, it continues to to say that I am already signed in at another location. Any ideas what I can do to solve this delemma?  - Cannot Verify Passport Email Address Hello, I did not receive an email from the Passport when I changed my email address so I could not verify my new email, so I tried to verify it by clicking on 'Verify My Email Address' in MSN Messenger 6.0, when every I do this I am promoted do type my new email address and password and then tries to verify it but shows the following message 'Microsoft® .NET Passport was temporarily unable to complete your request. Please try again later.', I've then gone back at least 5 times on separate days and I get the same message, what am I doing wrong, how can I verify my email address, please also note that I tried to change my email address to something else and then change it back so I could get passport to resend the email but it did not.  - Flipped Web Cam Image At one point chose to transpose the web cam image. I believe that is is causing the frame rate to slow considerably. Now, I can't figure out where I changed it.  - LAN and MSN mess 6.0 MSN Messenger 6 does absolutely nothing on this computer. We have a LAN connection, no firewall, XP home edition, and MSN 6 running on the other computer. I realise there are a couple of posts similar to this, but I have not really, entirely understood the solution. I HAVE tried all the regular solutions as suggested by Johnathon Kay, and a few not - like uninstall/reinstall, but when I hit the sign-in button in messenger, absolutely nothing happens. Any ideas?  - Windows Messenger 5? Why Not 6? If there is one annoyance in Microsoft Messenger, it must be the infamous REDUNDANCY! Microsoft claims Windows Messenger targeted at business, and MSN Messenger for consumers. But the question is, is this REALLY neccessary? The reality now is most consumers like me are suffering from Messenger conflicts and that annoying Outlook Express and Outlook dependancy on Windows Messenger. I'd rather have Windows Messenger to have dual modes, where one mode for business and another mode for consumers. It also reduces frustration and eases upgrading. This is much better than having two separate products. What I'm trying to honestly suggest is, please merge both products! P.S.  - MSN 6.0 and voice conversation problem I have recently installed MSN 6.0 and am trying to use this with Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 and a broadband connection to have a video and voice conversation. Whilst the video picture displays and my counterparty and I can see each other, we are unable to hear anything.  - Login problems I recently installed MSN explorer on a windows XP machine. I created a MSN account with an e-mail address and password. I completed the rest of the form and was able, at that time, to select Country / Region. Now when I log in with my E-mail and password I am asked to select a Country / Region from a drop down box.  - MSN 6 has lost the "oleaut32.dll:313" file For some unknown reason my MSN 6.0 Messenger fails to work at all now, everytime i go to open it, an error message is displayed saying, "The MSNMSGE.EXE file is linked to a missing export OLEAUT32.DLL:313", "A device attached to the system is not functioning". It seems that many thousands of people are having the same problem as myself. Also, i found out, if i remove MSN 6.0 from my computer, then re-install it, after downloading it again, the same problem still exists. One more thing, a similar problem to this has occurred whilst trying to install Paint Shop Pro.But what i would like information on, is how to fully repair this problem with MSN 6.0?  - Automatic Sign in Hello, My problem is that when i open msn messenger it shows me my username already there as as icon and when i click on that icon it signs in automatically without asking my password. Basically it says sign in with "my userid@hotmail.com" and when i click on it, it signs in automatically.  - Clearing login history When I open messenger and click sign in, the .net passport sign in screen that appears contains a log of the e-mail addresses which have been used to sign in.  - MSN: XP & 98 Incompatible? Hi I have XP Home Edition and cannot seem to connect to people with 98 SE via MSN messenger using audio or video. ie. The IM text works fine, as does the black board. The other parties can see my video. I cannot see their video. Neither party can hear, ie NO audio at all. All parties have tuned their systems with the audio / video tuning wizard.  - can't invite people to netmeetring conference Hi, I am using msn messenger 5.0 on an NT machine. Every time I initiate a netmeeting through it with my friend, everything works fine. But once the netmeeting starts, I don't know how to to invite more people to it. If I click on directory, it takes me to a screen that wants me to download messenger, but I already have it. As a workaround to this, close Outlook Express, then download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe_9x.reg

After this, you should no longer see the problem.
