    - Problems with custom emoticons. Hi. I'm running the latest MSN Messenger version (6.1) and yesterday, i tried to add some other custom emoticons. I received the following message : Your custom emoticons cannot be used. Please create new ones. A few month ago, it already happened, and I had to "rebuild" my whole custom emoticons' list. But now, it's impossible. I add some emoticons, and when I "re-connect" on MSN, the added emoticons have disappeared and when I try to add new ones, i got the same message (your custom emoticons cannot be used.     - 6.1.0211 won't auto-login once I'm online I have it set to start up when I log in to Windows, and I have it set to auto-sign in when connected to internet. It just sits there with the X thu the icon. I have to sign in manually. Can anyone think of why this has started?     - MSN Messenger 6.1 Keeps Asking to Update Sorry folks if this has been posted before, I've searched all through this group and can't see the topic. My msn messenger is updated to 6.1, but it asks me to update EVERY time I log in. It pops up and says a newer version of Messenger is available, would you like to update. Sometimes it says "you can't proceed withough updating" or something like that. I update every time, and next time I start the computer up, get the same message. After I update it,then I can not sign in MSN & get error information 0x8100036f. I follow below suggestions,and still can not login MSN6.1. So I use MSN 4.7 to sign in. It is available to sign in. ----------------------------------------- Here are some suggestions you should check/try if you haven't already: 1. The date on your computer needs to be set properly -- double click the clock verify that the time and date are set. Status:Yes,my unit had set. 2. If your password information is not saved, verify that you are typing it in with the correct case (uppercase or lowercase). Status:I use # password. 3. Change your password @ http://memberservicesnet.passport.com/memberservice.srf to something smaller (under 10-12 characters), then try signing in again. Status:I change it to 12 characters. 4. If you use a firewall (like ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Security etc. ), it's possible that Messenger doesn't have the correct rights to access the Internet, especially since you upgraded. You may need to re/add Messenger to the allowed list of programs in your firewall if this is the case. Status:I do not use a firewall. 5. If you disabled your firewall in the past, it still may be blocking Messenger -- try restarting it and see if that helps the situation. You also might try uninstalling an installed firewall, to verify that it isn't causing a problem (even if it is disabled). Status:I never use it. 6. Clear your IE cache and cookies -- open Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, then Internet Options, then click the Delete Files button, and when that's complete click the Delete Cookies button. Status:I had clear the cache & cookies. 7. Check your IE Security settings -- open Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, then Internet Options, then Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section, and verify that "Check for server certificate revocation" is unchecked. Also verify that 'Use SSL 2.0' and Use SSL 3.0' is checked, then click OK. Status:I had follow it. 8.     - Video Problems Windows XP (both computers) MSN Messenger 6.1 (both computers) While trying to conduct a video conversation, I am unable to see the other person. I am able to see him when he uses the web cam option, so I know the camera is working. Regardless of who initiates the call, the result is the same: he can see me, but I still cannot see him. When he tries to complete the audio/video tuning wizard, it tells him that he has a camera error and that there is a problem with the device or that it is already in use. (No other programs open.) However, the camera works fine with other software, and as I mentioned, with the web cam. The other person does not currently have a microphone hooked up. Can this affect the video? Any suggestions?     - Can't delete address from "Contacts", "Allow" and "Block" lists Greetings, I've had this problem for months, and it's annoying me. There are three people I added to my contacts years ago. After a while, I deleted the contacts and probably also blocked them at the same time. Now I've been going through my contacts list and my privacy folder, and I want these three names to just go away from EVERYWHERE! I don't want them on the "block" list, I don't want them on the "allow" list, and I DON'T want them in my contacts! I have tried everything - I've added them to my contact list, successfully (or so I thought!) DELETED them from the contact list, and yet they all continue to appear in the "allow" or the "block" list. I'm also having a separate problem - there is a person in my office who is in my contacts, is in my "allow" list, is ONLINE now, and yet I cannot see her, nor can she see me. I sit right across from her, and she is actively using Messenger, so I know she's signed on. I did have her temporarily blocked a month or so ago when I was out of town, but prior to that period of time, I was always able to see her online. Yes, I have entered her e-mail address correctly, and ironically, it was I who set up her Messenger account in the beginning. WHY do these problems continue to occur, and how can I fix them!     - MSN 6.1 Audio problems Hi, so I'm having audio problems like 50% of the msn comunity. I have seen tons of posting about this but not even one response that solves the problem. Sympton: I can send messages and we can see each other with webcams. In my network, in Italy and also with friends in Sweden. But, I can not talk, with my other computer at home I can talk, even though in the begining I could not. Then I could talk with a friend in our network, but I couldn't hear him, we closed the conversation and reopened (without changing anything) then he could not hear me either. The other week I could talk with some people (two way) in Sweden, no I don't hear them and they don't hear me. I have 1) XP Home Edition 2) MSN Messenger 6.1 3) Webcam 4) Microphone that is connected directly to the soundcard I have tried 1) The configuration in MSN, works fine 2) All permutations of possible configurations of sound 3) Disabled QoS (even though I don't know what it is) I can not touch any router since I'm in a LAN (fastweb in italy is a big LAN 10Mbit) so I can do nothing about UPnP (in advanced settings in MSN it says that I'm connected against a non UPnP IP-limited NAT) Please, if someone (expert or miracle maker) solves these problems, tell me. Hi,
I recently installed MSN premium and MSN
messenger as part of a Verizon DSL deal. From
that point on Internet Explorer won't work, it
flashes on then disappears. I uninstalled from
Add & Remove programs(IE) and the win2k
version(IE5.0) did the same thing. I uninstalled
MSN Premium & Messenger to no avail. I
re-installed IE6 still the same, any help will be
appreciated.
