    - Trouble with MSN Messenger 7.0 I have just recently upgraded my msn messenger to the 7.0 version, but now cannot sign in and error box appears when I try to sign in, which states exactly: 'We were inable to sign you in to MSN Messenger, possibly because of a problem with the service or with your internet connection.     - version problems i realize that, in general, the latest version of most software is better and more reliable than its predecessors, but regarding msn messenger, i am pretty set on one particular version. specifically version 3 (i have its setup exe) and i use it in windows 98. since about version 5 or so, i started noticing the popup message stating that there is a newer version available and i must install it to continue to use the program. although i am given a yes/no option, there still doesnt seem to be much of a choice of whether to download the program if i wish to use the version im already running.. whats more annoying is that, no matter which version of messenger i decide to use aside from a 6-sub-version or whatever the newest one is, each time i execute its shortcut, i get the same 'update' request; whether im using version 3, 4, 5, 6 or 6.2, .4 etc.... i prefer to use 3, and i am just sort of upset that im somewhat forced ( by this popup) to use a specific version. for one, i dont really need all the added features provided in the newest messenger version, and secondly, the UI, i think is very unattractive and cluttred. --is there a way around this seemingly mandatory update pop-up -to continue using the older version i already have? thanks Tag: MSN7 install problem Tag: 76214

    - Having problems with version 7.0.816 I upgraded to the newest version. And now everytime I try to use my MSN Messenger to open my hotmail it freezes after a few seconds and I get an error message stating that IE needs to shut down. I click on more info and it shows iexplore.exe and the mod msgsc.dll version 7.0.816.0 as being the problem. How do I fix this? Should I just install an older version?     - Windows Messenger 7.0 not sending messages At random intervals messenger will fail to send my instant messages to the contact i am chatting with. I am able to recieve messages from my contact and I appear online to my contact. I do not receive a notice that the message has not been sent. The only way i can solve this issue is by signing out and back into messenger. All of this is very frustrating and not very efficient.     - Games not available, fixed by tech support.... Norton was the problem for me, now fixed, and playing games again.....     - cant get the web cam feature to work!!! help!!! my web cam works. when i use the programs that come with my web cam to record video clips it works perfectly fine. but when i use MSN to video conference with someone... after i inite the person to view my webcam... all that is transmitted is the static screen (like when a television is not tuned to a broadcasting station) i have tried 2 different webcams and both have the same results. anyone knows how to solve this???     - Send Message using the messenger API Hi, I'm trying to write a small application in C# that sends a message via the Messenger API. I played a little bit with the API and I was able to get list of contacts. When I tried to use the API in order to create a session and send a message to a contact of mine I stumbled some difficulties. I looked for example code on the web but found NOTHING useful. Can anyone help? A code sample (or a link to a sample) that demonstrates how to use the messenger API and send a message to a contact. It will be great if the code will include all steps - because I'm a beginner. (the language is not important...it doesn't have to be C#) Note that I've tried to use the msdn INVITE example but I need some more information regarding the following: 1) If I want to get application ID of messenger - how do I find it? 2) What is context data?     - Can't delete some contacts in MSN Messenger, WHY? Hello Everyone, I have few contacts that I chose not to keep in touch with and some which were mysteriously added. Yea I know we have all heard that one before :-). Any ways, I have blocked those unwanted and contacts from area 51 but I am not allowed to delete them from my MSN Messenger. I have successfuly delete few accounts in the past but most of my block list is un-delete-able. They are like Super Roaches, after Neucular explosion, they can't be deleted. Currently I have version 7 of the MSN messenger. So far I have done the following, which I knew would not help but did it anyways. 1. Rebooted (don't laugh! I knew someone was going to ask me to do it anyway) 2. uninstalled / reinstalled the messenger (which i knew wasn't going to help, but!) 3. tried to delete contact using another computer that has lower version of the messenger then 7.0 If any one knows why the delete option is GRAYED out when I right click on some of my blocked contacts in the Privacy section please tell me.     - Messenger sends SIP BYE after receiving IM INVITE Hi- I'm using 2 Windows Messenger 5.1.0680 clients configured to use SIP UDP. They can see each other online, and if either one clicks on the other to establish a voice call, that works find. But if one clicks on the other and tries to send an IM, it fails saying the message couldn't be delivered. The receiving party is sending TRYING, OK, immediately followed by BYE.     - Can't sign in with main account, NO errors Well starting about one or two months ago my MSN stopped signing in, it just says "Signing in.." for ages until it gives up and goes back to the start screen where it says "Click below to sign in:". I recieve no error message what so ever. The weird part is that my other account signs in fine. The only difference between the two accounts is that my main has a lot of contacts while the other one (the one that works) has only 1.     - a serious problem: cannot receive msgs I am using msn messenger 7.0 but I cannot receive msgs from my contacts. This is really driving me crazy. Please help! I had added msn into the exception list in the winxp sp2 firewall. I have 2 identical whitebox computers that had problems with the same MSN7
upgrade install -- symptoms were drunk performance, network problems, and
lockup on later boot of XP. Final diagnosis was the Intel D865GRH
motherboard had its BIOS partially overwritten. Reinstalling BIOS cured it.
Anyone else have this problem?
