    - MSN has encountered an error. I downloaded MSN 7.5 and when I try to sign in, it says MSN has encountered a problem and needs to close. The same thing happened with MSN 7.0. They used my daughters password to access the account and changed the password and the secret account information. Also my daughter Nicole did not provide an alternate address. We would like to know how we could over ride this action. If you keep logs of peoples movements on the msn messenger ....then you will see that the account nicole_well20032hotmail.com was indeed modifed today. and not by nicole.     - Cannot surf internet I have a new machine running Windows 2000 Pro. After reinstalling MSN 9 I can get my mail but cannot surf the web. I was told by MSN Support that as soon as I got online, I needed to update my Messenger. When I try to do this, it thinks I'm behind a firewall and ends there.     - Messanger 7.0? Where can I download this version? My hard drive crashed and after reinstalling everything I had to download 7.5. As many other posts here indicate, it is crap. I can't connect most times. It is completely random when it does connect without me changing a thing. I am using it at work and had no problems with 7.0 on the work network.     - Messenger Audio set up I am running a Logitech webcam on Win XP SP2. I have bought a USB headset to replace the ear bud mic that came with the webcam. My problem is that when I run the Audio Set up wizard in MSN Messenger it does not find the headset as a selection option, therefore will not work with the headset.     - upgrade from 6.2 to 7.5, using video forces re-boot Greetings, just upgraded to 7.5 from 6.2 (I think it was 6.2, definitely 6.x), and using video conference causes the remote end to hang, forcing a hard reset. OS version is XP SP2, not known if all updates are applied but I don't think they are. My end is fine. We had been using 6.2 for 5 or 6 months with reasonable success. Audio only worked fine, as soon as video is added it can take upto 5 minutes (but has happened at different intervals) before the remote end hangs. The remote end is in Europe, connection is 128Kb up and 256Kb down, no router. My end is in Can 800Kb up and 3000Kb down (on a good day), Dlink wireless router. The person at the other end is not really that computer savy but is able to get by. I guess my question(s) are any guess as to what to check? Are there updates that are required for this to work? This will have to be done via remote assistance, email, or phone. I have checked the web site for his web cam and have downloaded a "potential" driver update that I will send him.     - Security Problems With File Transfers (v7.0) I started receiving file transfers from friends, but when I attempted to open them from the window, Windows automatically deleted them for security reasons. I've found that I have to go the long route by opening up the folder I save the files to and changing the filename. Now Messenger takes consistently 120 seconds from the time the icon appears in the tray to the time it signs in. Another computer with messenger 7.5 on the home LAN continues to work fine. This is usually due to an old cookie. To fix this, open up Internet Explorer, click the
Tools menu, then Internet Options, click "Delete Cookies" and click OK.

After it should work.. for awhile (grin).
