Click Start, then Run, and enter the following:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
then click OK
(DONT FORGET THE "SPACE BETWEEN regsvr32 and softpub.dll)
then try install msn messenger. if that doens't work try
these things:
click Start, Run, and then "copy" and "paste" the
following command into the box:
C:\Windows\System\msiexec.exe /regserver
(don't forget the space between msiexec.exe
and /regserver)
JUST COPT AND PASTE IT
then try install msn messenger
If its still not working then u might need to UPDATE UR
windows installer. to do that go here:

its only like 2MB.
then install the d/l and try install msn messenger.
