Is there a way to disable it with registry setings on the clients or some
ports to disable on the firewall.
I want the clients to be able only to chat and have audio/video conference.

Thanks.

I don't want to overrule the guy from Microsoft, but I think that ports
6891-6900 are required for file transfers, so if you block those you
should be OK. (I might be wrong - Johnathan: feel free to correct me!)

Hi Allan,

Actually, MSN Messenger 6 doesn't require any ports open to send files, as I said in my
previous message, it can send files through the Messenger server, so even when both sides are
blocked, the file can still be sent.

So you mean it can send files through port 1863?? Is that any slower
than using the specific file-sending ports??

Thanks in advance,
Allan Lewis.
