Hi there!

I have MSN 7 installed and I'm not able to add custom emoticons from
conversation windows. For example, if someone sends a nice emoticon and you
would like to keep it, you can't :-(

I have one colleague which right clicks over the received emoticon and he's
got an option named 'Add' which enables him to do that. I don't have the
option... :-(

Does anyone know if it is possible to enable this setting?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

This "Add" setting isn't available in each locale. If you want this functionality, you'll
need to set yourself into the UK, US, Canada or similar locale. You can do so here:

Hi there, Jonathan.

You're probably right! I just tried signing in with the MSN 7 instalation
with 2 different e-mail addresses and with one, the 'Add' option appears and
with the other one it doesn't. One of the differences between the 2 accounts
is that one is @hotmail and the other one isn't (and the first one's country
is US and the second one isn't).

Still then, I edited the profile for the second account as you suggested,
but it still didn't work... Maybe it takes a little bit for MS to update the
profile? (I'll try later, maybe it will work!)

Any other ideas?

Hi Jonathan.

You're probably right in what concerns to the tip you gave me to solve my
problem!

Still then, I edited my profile to a country like the ones you suggested,
logged back in to MSN 7 and no luck!
Afterwards, I tried logging in with an hotmail account from US and... it
worked just fine!
Maybe MS takes a little bit to update the profile so that MSN 7 takes it
into account when logging in?

Thanks for your help. I 'll try again later on to see if it solves!

Hi Plucky,

If it's not a Hotmail passport, also make sure that in the Profile Editor
(https://register.passport.net/editprof.srf), make sure you have "Share my other registration
information." checked or it won't pick up these settings.

Greetings,

If your locale is set to the US and you're still seeing this, you may have patched your
Messenger client with a third-party tool in which case a reinstall will fix it.
