MSN Messenger in Win98
I have now tried everything suggested regarding the 0x81000301 can't log in
error. I have tried all the following:
Added messenger.hotmail.com loginnet.passport.com login.passport.net
memberservicesnet.passport.net to the trusted sites and unticked the Req
Server Verification box.
Custom level is set to Low.
There is no firewall.
Password is OK. (I can access MSN messenger from another PC)
IE cache is cleared and temporary internet files are cleared. The cache is
set to 50 Mb.
SSL2 & SSL3 are ticked.
Server Certificate revocation is unticked.
Automatic logon with username is selected.
regsvr32 softpub.dll has been run.
If I run telnet messenger.hotmail.com 1863 I get the telnet box for about
half a minute and then it says connection to host lost.
Any further help much appreciated before I give up for good !
