    - Send Message using the messenger API Hi, I'm trying to write a small application in C# that sends a message via the Messenger API. I played a little bit with the API and I was able to get list of contacts. When I tried to use the API in order to create a session and send a message to a contact of mine I stumbled some difficulties. I looked for example code on the web but found NOTHING useful. Can anyone help? A code sample (or a link to a sample) that demonstrates how to use the messenger API and send a message to a contact. It will be great if the code will include all steps - because I'm a beginner. (the language is not important...it doesn't have to be C#) Note that I've tried to use the msdn INVITE example but I need some more information regarding the following: 1) If I want to get application ID of messenger - how do I find it? 2) What is context data?     - Can't delete some contacts in MSN Messenger, WHY? Hello Everyone, I have few contacts that I chose not to keep in touch with and some which were mysteriously added. Yea I know we have all heard that one before :-). Any ways, I have blocked those unwanted and contacts from area 51 but I am not allowed to delete them from my MSN Messenger. I have successfuly delete few accounts in the past but most of my block list is un-delete-able. They are like Super Roaches, after Neucular explosion, they can't be deleted. Currently I have version 7 of the MSN messenger. So far I have done the following, which I knew would not help but did it anyways. 1. Rebooted (don't laugh! I knew someone was going to ask me to do it anyway) 2. uninstalled / reinstalled the messenger (which i knew wasn't going to help, but!) 3. tried to delete contact using another computer that has lower version of the messenger then 7.0 If any one knows why the delete option is GRAYED out when I right click on some of my blocked contacts in the Privacy section please tell me. They can see each other online, and if either one clicks on the other to establish a voice call, that works find.     - how to disable windows messenger after installing msn messenger Hi, I recently "upgraded" from windows messenger (5.1 I think) to msn messenger. in my naïveté I thought it would uninstall (or at least disable) windows messenger.     - VideoMessenging I received my Logitech 400 webcam recently and tried to use it to video conference on MSN messenger. The first time I tried it the picture and sound were ok but now i have no sound goin out.     - Problem with Netgear MR814 router, Please Help!!! The point is that when I connect the internet via Netgear MR814.v3 router in order to surf the net with more than one computer, PC and laptop (laptop uses the wireless connection), the PC is getting terribly slow and to open any web page takes me more than when I had used a dial-up years ago and the laptop is not much better.     - Can't sign in with main account, NO errors Well starting about one or two months ago my MSN stopped signing in, it just says "Signing in.." for ages until it gives up and goes back to the start screen where it says "Click below to sign in:". I recieve no error message what so ever. The weird part is that my other account signs in fine. The only difference between the two accounts is that my main has a lot of contacts while the other one (the one that works) has only 1.     - a serious problem: cannot receive msgs I am using msn messenger 7.0 but I cannot receive msgs from my contacts. This is really driving me crazy. Please help! I had added msn into the exception list in the winxp sp2 firewall. When I enable the option "allow me to cennect directly to my contacts when sending messages" in msn, I can receive some of the msgs sent by my contacts but not all. During installation I got a message "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available." Apparently, the installer was looking for the MsnMsgs.msi file which is not present on my machine. It tells me "A newer version of MSN Messenger is available, would you like to update?" Then it offers a button called "What's New?" Clicking the "What's New" button used to take me to a technical page a la Windows Update (Security patches, little smileys, new features, everything). Now it just shows me this marketing garbage with no specifics about what changes you are making to the software.     - Whats New? Is a change list so hard? I open messenger to see a note that says a new version is available. I click on the link in the note, and it asks if I want to install, or see whats new. Of course I want to see what's new - who installs updates without checking to see whats in them first? I click on whats new, and up comes a web page.     - Cannot use webcam because of non existing videoconference Hallo, Does anyone know a solution. When my mother in law (she's only 85 years old and speaks only dutch, so this newsgroup is not for her) wants to start her webcam she gets the message: "Je kunt een videovergadering en uitzenden met webcam niet tegelijkertijd uitvoeren" In English something like: You cannot use videoconference and sending with the webcam together. But... she isn't using videoconference or any other function regarding te webcam. She uses Windows XP-home, Messenger 7, MSN-plus 3.5 and a Trust 120 webcam.     - Whiteboard Issue Again, But a Different Scenario My friends and I have been trying to do the whiteboard thing. They can all connect, but I can't. I have opened 1863 on my firewall. I have installed Windows Messenger 5.1, and MSN Messenger 7.0. I still can't connect to them. If I connect to my PC, from my laptop on my LAN, I can see the traffic leave the network via 1863, and return and it all works just fine. So I know my PC's are setup right.     - MSN7 Connection Problem Hi All, I'm having problems connecting to MSN. I've tried many things posted in this newsgroup, but nothing worked. I tried opening the relevant ports in the Proxy Server I tried registering DLLs I tried unchecking the selections in Advance Connection Settings None of these worked. When I click on Test HTTP Connection in Advance Connection Settings, I get a successful connection. When I try to login I get connection failed and error code 81000306.     - Jonathan! Hi there :-) I was wondering if you'd consider answering a couple questions in the Messenger section of my forums (http://www.askmarvin.ca/forums/index.php?&showforum=17). I usually only get one or two questions a day but other areas of the site are keeping me so busy that I'm not always able to keep up on the latest Messenger issues. I've referred a lot of people to the MSN messenger newsgroup in an effort to help them but there's still a few that have questions that go un-answered and I feel for them. my web cam works. when i use the programs that come with my web cam to
record video clips it works perfectly fine.

but when i use MSN to video conference with someone... after i inite the
person to view my webcam... all that is transmitted is the static screen
(like when a television is not tuned to a broadcasting station)

i have tried 2 different webcams and both have the same results. anyone
knows how to solve this???

Greetings Sam,

It sounds like Messenger is grabbing the wrong video input. You may simply need to select
the correct input by clicking the Tools menu, then choosing Audio/Video Tuning Wizard and
then going through the wizard.
