Hi, im having problems logging into msn messenger, it
comes up with this error saying: "We were unable to sign
you in to .NET Messenger Service, possibly because of a
problem with the service or with your Internet
connection. Please make sure that you are connected to
the Internet. 0x81000301"

I have tried soo many suggestions for fixing this
problem, yet none seen to work. Ive been searching the
web for ages, trying to find someone who can help me.

One of my theorys for the problem is this. A couple of
months back, my friends made a lucky guess as to what my
password was, and were correct. They logged into my
account, and i only found out a week later. Soon after,
all the smilies stopped working and i was informed i
needed an upgrade. When i upgraded, it wouldnt let me
sign in saying that i was hacking into the account, which
i wasn't! Maybe something got confised because of my
friends actions?

Please help me, as this is the only way i have of
communicating with some of my friends, and to lose this
privelege would be like someone telling me that i was no
longer able to breath!

Hey,

I don't know what to do either and I communicate with
friends like this and classes as well.... I haven't been
able to sign in either for 3 or 4 days now! Do you get
the message that .NET is having touble when you click the
help button after getting that message?

I have read several problems like what we are having and
no one seems to know what to do! I am waiting a reply
also!

If I get anywhere with it I'll let you know... please do
likewise!

thanks

Whenever i click the help link, it always says that the
servers are to busy, or that the page cannot be displayed.
Of course i'll let you know if i find an answer.
Thankyou!

Greetings,

There are some minor difficulties with the Messenger service currently that will be
preventing a small minority of users from signing in.

If you are part of this minority, you may find it more handy to use a web-based Messenger
client for the time being:
http://www.wbmsn.net
http://www.e-messenger.net
http://www.msn2go.com
http://www.msn2web.com

Also, a number of software firewalls and proxies may be forcing you to connect using the
method that is currently not functioning. If this is the case, make sure that your software
firewall has given Messenger full access to the Internet connection and if you've forced
Messenger to use a proxy, try turning it off (this will only work of course, if you can
connect without a proxy). To turn off the proxy setting, open up the main Messenger window,
click the Tools menu, then Options, then Connection tab, uncheck "I use a proxy server" and
then click OK.

"There are some minor difficulties with the Messenger
service currently that will be preventing.........."

For various uknown reasons we can not communicate with
the servers providing messenger service. This does not
sound like a "Small minority of users". Especially when
we are redirected to a privately owned/hosted web page
providing web base chat.
