I have a teenage daughter who is spending too much time on MSN
Messenger and not enough on her homework. I wish to control her access
by disabling MSN Messenger via the firewall on the router from time to
time. Is there a way to do it please? we run a wireless network at
home using TCP. All help will be gratefully received.

Kind regards,

u can use Internet explorer. email msn support here:

http://support.msn.com/contactus_emailsupport.aspx?
productkey=messenger&ct=eformfree

there still are other ways to log into msn messenger
without even having the program. u can go here:

http://webmessenger.msn.com

she can sign in there without even having msn messenger
installed

just let ur daughter use msn messenger. If she doesn't get
her h/w done its her problem

Can you block specific HTTP addresses as well as TCP/UDP ports?

Jeff,

thanks for your assistance. I don't beleive I can block http:
addresses from the router although I do have Norton Internet Security
installed on her PC, which can.

Chris

What brand and model of router? Some routers actually can be set to
allow/block all Internet access from designated networked computers by
schedule.
