Greetings Tanveer,

Normal text-messaging goes through the Messenger servers, so you can't find any IP addresses
that way. However, you can find someone's IP address if they send you a file, initiates
voice/video, etc. simply by going to the command line and using the "netstat" command from
the command line while the transfer/voice/video conversation is in progress.

Send them a written message asking them to tell you their IP address. The
IP address is necessary if you decide you wish to use Netmeeting as well as
MSN Messenger. There are fewer problems with video & audio in Netmeeting
and it can be used where the corresponders have different versions of
Windows. Whereas MSN Messenger gives you headaches - hence this forum.
There seems to be no need for a forum for Netmeeting - at least I could not
find one.

There are 10 or so news group forums for NetMeeting ( 6 in English) so if
number of newsgroups parallels problems NetMeeting wins I think.

has a list.

To Brian Sullivan & N.Miller. My mistake, I fired from the hip. Thank
you for correcting me. I should have realised that whatever program is
used someone somewhere will have a problem and, I suppose, the most widely
used are likely to generate the most problems. I must have been lucky,
Netmeeting worked for me first time.
