Only if your contact is using Windows/MSN Messenger (his/her Yahoo
account must be registered as Passport
https://register.passport.net/reg.srf)

Not directly with MSN Messenger; it will only exchange messages with other
MSN users. I also use Trillian, which allows multiple client connections to
the big four, AIM, ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo!, and IRC, as well. But they are
still separate systems, and you can only exchange messages with a Yahoo!
member using a Yahoo! aware client window. You can't send a message from an
MSN client window to a Yahoo! client window.

thanx for replying,
I have another question: Say I succeed in adding a yahoo
member to my list after he gets a net passport, can I
correspond with him using my MSN messenger while he's
using the yahoo messenger?

You could install Trillian. It is a chat client that integrates your contact
lists from MSN, Yahoo, AOL, and ICQ. So you can talk to everyoneone in one
program no matter which one they are using.
