All my friends and I have been able to duplicate this "bug" where any
message that includes a hyperlink with the string "youtube.com" in it
is immediately bounced. This is as of 9:34 PM Pacific Daylight Time on
May 9, 2008.

Anyone else experiencing this bug or know why it's happening?

I think this is disturbing if Microsoft is doing this out of profit
for their new launch of Messenger TV or something.

Hello Edmond,

yes, this is a behavior that all Messenger clients have due to an internal
blacklist working with base64-encoded hashes. See the latest postings on
www.mess.be to get further details on it.

Yea... that sucks.

Has there been any official press release from M$ yet? I'm more
interested in the motivations behind this rather than "it's
happening." I mean, the only other people blocking YouTube are the
Department of Defense... Perhaps to promote productivity... A Mormon
universities and countries that with to censor free content... If
Microsoft has finally sunk so low as to block YouTube for greed then I
have no doubt there will be public outcry from the users (as I'm
starting to see already).
