Windows live messenger keeps installing everytime I reboot

I am using version 8.5 and it is working fine. However, often when I reboot
the computer everything comes to a halt and a windows installer box opens
up saying it is installing windows live messenger. This is really annoying.
I have it set to start with windows, but not automatically sign me in.
Sometimes , just clicking on the program to open it causes the installation
thing to start again. Thanks for any help you can give me

I am also having this issue. Is there a fix for it or even anyone looking
into the problem?

I'm experiencing the same thing. Good thing I don't reboot too often.

My oldest son said there was talk of a virus causing such activity. We run a
very tight ship in the office and I'd be unpleasently surprised if it was.
