When my daughter logs in, MSN closes immeditately, but the icon in th
bottom right hand corner stays. When I mouse over it disappears. An
idea why her login would be bad

Greetings,

When Messenger crashes, the icon won't immediately update unless you move the mouse over.

Is this just her Passport that does this? If so, you might try rebuilding your client cache.
To do so, click Start, then Run, then type:
%appdata%\microsoft
and click OK.

Right-click the MSN Messenger folder and choose Delete. After all this, restart Messenger
and see if the problem has been corrected.

Unfortunately that didn't work. I also tried another passport (mine
and it is doing the same. I thought mine worked yesterday, but I coul
be mistaken.

I am running McAfee Security but I looked at the firewall settings an
MSN Messenger has Full Access.

Any other thoughts

I just discovered your website and this thread. It precisely describe
the problem I'm having trying to run MSN Messenger 7.0. I run o
Windows XP, and use Firefox as my browser.

I tried all the suggested corrections and "deletes" you suggested i
this thread, but none work. MSN Msg7 just opens for a few seconds
then goes away!

Thanks for any help.
