    - HELP!!! Messenger 7.0 problem Last night I installed messenger 7 onto my computer which I have window 2000 Professional as the operating system. The installation process ran smoothly but when it attempt to sign in, it froze!!!!!!! I had to stop the messenger from Task Manager which indicates that messenger is NOT RESPONDING...     - Recent problems with URLs. My domain 'http://www.scripters.be' is blocked in any message i send to my friends. This is a problem that started occuring a short while ago. I have not yet upgraded to MSN 7, since i am quite happy with less 'features' (MSN 6.2 here, latest build) When i sent out a message containing anything with 'scripters.be' in it, the message never arrives and upon investigating with nstuffplug i noticed the switchboard closes the connection instantly. Is my domain on some kind of spam list? Is there any way i can verify this, or get this straightened out (since i never 'spammed' my url, i just refer a few friends to new posts i placed at my Blog site.)     - messenger freezes instantly This has happened to me for quite some time. I start it up (I have tried newest version, old versions) and it will freeze. I've had to resort to using windows messenger or trillian (terrible). Something really odd is that the other computer on my network (sister- on a wireless routher) has the same problem.     - Messenger 7.0 is a real disaster !! MS .. Get alive ! MSN Messenger 7.0 shouldn't have been released .. i think it's one of the worst pieces of software ever (together with WinME ;) Why ? - It always comes up with a crash-report after i shut it down. Even on a clean WinXP SP2 machine ! How about testing before releasing it ? - Performance is really buggy, slow and with much delays. - There are ad's everywhere.     - Webcam "Zoomed In" in MSN Messenger 7.0 I have a Sony DCR TRV50 connected w/Firewire. When I select it in the "Audio Video Tuning Wizard" the image is fine--what apppears in the wizard is what i see through the camera's viewfinder. When I check "Webcam Settings," though, or start a "Video Conversation", the image appears "zoomed in," about 200%.     - Double-click a contact doesn't open a conversation window - Webcam problem (7.0) Hi, Another problem found in a friend's computer, she has MSN 7.0.0777, Windows XP Professional SP1. When she double-click a user in her contact list, nothing happens! The conversation window does not open, so she has to click in the status icon in the left side of the user, and click in the "send an instant message" button. Any clue on that? Another problem, she has a web camera identified by PC Camera (6005 cif), and it works ok in the webcam program, no freeze and image is ok. But if she uses it in MSN, she can use it only for 1 or 2 minutes before it freezes! But the same things doesn't happen in video conference. So, what's the problem with the webcam program working fine, some parts of MSN working fine too, but some part simply not working? I just can't figure out how this could be possible!     - Webcam stopped working (MSN 7) Hi, I have the following configuration: Windows XP Professional SP1 MSN Messenger 7.0.0813 Creative Webcam 3 (USB) I always used my webcam normally, but someday I'd tried to use it and it says that my camera is being used or not connected. But it is!! Is not being used by any other program, and it's connected. I tried "webcam settings", and same message. If I try the "audio/video tuning wizard", the webcam works ok in the test of it. If I use video conference, the same, is working. Or in in the Creative program, the same, is working ok. So, it's a little bit insane that I can use it in some parts of MSN and all my computer. How can I fix it?? The only thing I remember I have done between the working and not working period, is to remove key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >SOFTWARE > Classes > CLSID > {87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E} > InProcServer32 so I could delete some AVI files in my computer. Don't know if it's related, but since I'm a developer too, I tought it could be interesting for you to know. I'll try upgrading to SP2 to see if it works.     - Hotmail sign-in problem Hi, my daughter's hotmail is playing up - she gets bounced between the sign-in screen and the "copy the characters in the picture" screen. She is already signed in to Passport and Messenger works OK. Even setting up a new hotmail account won't work, it says she is already signed in. However, most of the suggestions I've come across for this kind of thing seem not to be relevant, as: 1) the problem occurs using both IE6 and Firefox browsers, so IE6 settings aren't to blame 2) the problem does NOT occur logging in to my own Hotmail account, so it doesn't seem to be firewall settings 3) the problem occurs both in her own and my own Windows XP usernames I've run out of ideas, it's obviously something to do with her own account. I have a wireless internet connection and lately I have been having problems with my network, on the fact it wont actually work anymore. Weird enough, *every* other app accessing the card has no prob whatsoever !     - video conversation problem During a video conversation, my daughter's camera will turn itself off after a few minutes (there is not an option on her camera to prevent this). On 6.2 she could turn it off and back on again and the video conversation would continue. This also is true with my camera. With 7.0 with and without the new patch, the conversation can continue if I turn my camera off and back on again, but her camera will not. We have to end the conversation and restart it so messenger sees her camera again. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how we can get messenger to recognize her camera in the event that it goes off during the conversation without restarting? Thanks for your help.     - Still a bug To replicate: 1. Right click on MSN Messenger 7 icon in notification area 2. Click on "Send an Instant Message". 3. You will see that any of your on-line contacts are listed by e-mail address - a poor way to go! Who can remember the e-mail addresses of 20-30 online contacts? 4. Now, open the main MSN Messenger ver 7.0.0813 window. 5. Go to Contacts | Manage Contacts | View Contacts By. You will see that the default is by e-mail address. 6. Choose to display contacts by "Display Name". 7. Exit MSN Messenger main window. 8. Now, repeat steps 1 and 2. You will now see your contacts by their display name. Great, that is exactly how some of my home user clients want it. The problem is this. The setting DOES NOT HOLD if you sign off and exit MSN Messenger, nor if you do a reboot (of course). You have to go through steps 4-6 "every time".
