Several users have installed IM 7. Our proxy server is
logging MB's upon MB's of traffic from IM 7. One user
one day was well over 500MB. I think it is happening when
they use the nudge feature. Definately a bug of some
form, but using a nudge is the only common part between
users with the issue.

The problem goes away once they sign out and then sign
back in. At least until the nudge is used again. Nothing
found in the KB. Anyone have any thoughts or anyone
experiencing the same thing??

Hi John,

Messenger can pull all sorts of data through, from file transfers, to display pictures, to
winks, to custom emoticons. The "nudge" is a simple standard bit of Messenger data and is a
byte at most. I don't really see how it could affect such transfers.

I don't really know what to tell you besides to install a packet scanner on one of the PCs
and see what's going on.
