This problem involves Messenger, so I thought I would post it here to see if
anyone has experienced it.

When I start Outlook Express vers 6 a popup appears, with the text
"A newer version [of MSN Messenger] is available. You must install the newer
version in order to continue."

I don't use MSN Messenger and have no interest in installing a newer
version.

Does anyone know how to stop this message?

Thanks for any help.

Greetings Larry,

To stop this behavior, close Outlook Express, then download and run the following .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe_9x.reg

After this it shouldn't bother you again.
