My PC has been infected with some form of virus
or Browser problem and despite attempts to clean it
I have been unable to do so.

My son has been using MSN Messenger on my PC and
before I wipe the hard drive he needs me to save his
MSN contact information and password.

I am unable to browse on that PC as Internet explorer
is no longer working but the machine still boots up OK.

Can Anyone tell me if it possible to save his contact list
which he has told me he cannot replicate anywhere else.

i.e. what files can I copy off the PC before I wipe it
that will help him.

Thanks

CharlesW

Greetings Charles,

You can't save the password, but he should know it. The contacts are stored on the Messenger
server, as such, you can login from any computer and even if you completely wipe your hard
drive, when you sign back into Messenger, all your contacts are still there.

Jonathan.

He now tells me that because it automatically
logs him each time he cant remember his password.

Is there anything we can do?

Thanks for your help.
