Hi,
We have been using MSN Messenger in our company for the last four
years, and as you may imagine, we have grown accustomed to it's ease of
use and it's tremendous usefullness.
Our network is essentially composed of Windows NT, W2K and recently
W2K3 servers. Our DELL Optiplex workstations run on WXP sp2 and are
equipped with at least 512 MB RAM. Our firewall/proxy is an ISA Server
2000.
Workstations are configured to allow Windows Update to go about it's
business unhindered.
Since version 3.11 of MSN MEssenger, many of us are experiencing random
disconnections. Messenger will disconnect (the task bar icon will
display the red cross) and then reconnect after the standard delay.
Often on receiving a message, we type a response, and on hitting send
we get disconnected.
Version 3.22 brought no improvement, and neither did version 3.24
I have, on troubled workstations, reset the IP stack using
WinSockXPFix, reregistered the recommended DLLs, and even deleted the
%appdata%\Microsoft\MSN Messenger directory.
We have searched the logs generated by ISA Server for errors.
Outgoing user traffic flows freely through the ISA firewall.
Any help would be greatly welcomed.
Have a good afternoon
