    - Messenger loses pictures Hi, MSN Messenger is not keeping the "Display Picture" when we change it from the default to a custom icon. It stays selected and visible once it's been chosen, but if you shut down Messenger and re-start it, or after a re-boot, the picture defaults to one of the supplied versions. Any ideas?     - Annoying 4.6 Please, someone help me and salvage my sanity. After umpteen dozen removals of windows messenger, it still reloads itself on my system. I added the system registry entry, I uninstalled it from windows using control panel, I uninstalled it using RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir% \INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove and it KEEPS COMING BACK.     - Cant Use My Camera in 6.1 Can in Windows Messenger 5.0 I'd like to be able to use my Sonly Video (MiniDV 120BT) camera for a Web Cam. I cna use it in v5.0 and when I select the Start camera I can see the Picture in Picture and the other end receieves me jsut fine. If I exit out of 5.0 and OLE and everthing else tied to it and run MSN Messenger 6.1 The Web Cam Settings gives me the Error: You cannot change your camera settings because either your camera is not plugged in to your computer or you are using it in a video conference or with another program.     - msn log files... how can i retrieve a chat that wasn't saved?? I desperately need to retreive a conversation that took place tonight in msn messenger. I have figured out how to retrieve all other conversations, but not this one.... the button that saved conversations in a log file was disabled(logs instant messages by default).     - MSN and Outlook Address Book I recently installed MSN Messenger and since then, my Outlook Express address book hasn't been running properly. If I right-click on a person's name and select 'properties', it takes an incredibly long time for the properties to appear. I've heard from a few people that they 't received my email messages. The problem I have is the same: I can see myself when I use the tunig tool but not when using Messenger. It really annoys me because it is brand new camera (Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000) and when I bought the camera it said, on the package in big letters, that it is suitable for MSN Messenger. Also vice versa.     - Webcam Problems Whenever I try to open my webcam in Messenger, it says my digital camcorder is already in use, and cancels the startup of webcam. I am not using it for any other programs, why is it telling me this, and how can i prevent it?     - Sign in and Inbox Problem I just upgraded from 4.x to 5.0 Windows Messenger but even before that this has been a problem. WM will not login automaticly. When I initiate the sign in process it says my password is incorrect or my account dosent exist. I press Retry, put in my password and still no go. The only way it signs in is if I select 'sign in as', leave the email address as is (my .net account) and enter my password. This has been the only way.     - MSN 6.1: Start My Webcam vs Start a Video Conference Greetings. I have a few questions that I hope someone can shed some light on. The specs: I have a newly reloaded Windows XP system with AMD 900MHZ and 384MB ram. I connect to the internet via cable modem. I don't have a firewall running when Im chatting via MSN Messenger 6.1. My girlfriend has a newly reloaded Windows XP system, 512MB RAM, on a 1.2GHZ AMD Athlon system. She is using Norton Internet Security and allows MSN Messenger 6.1 access to the web. She, too, connects to the internet via cable modem. We both are using the Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 web cams. We both have QoS disabled. We both have the latest Logitech software upgrade. When we use the option of "Start My webcam", the picture is really clear on the large image view, but the framerate is close to 3 or 4 frames per second. The framerate is the same no matter what size our webcam window is set to. When we use the "Start a Video Conference" option, the picture is pixelated the most on the large view. But the framerate is REALLY REALLY good. A slight notice in lag time...thats it! Is it possible to have this sort of framerate for the "Start My webcam" option? What is everyone else's framerate using this option? Why does Video Conferencing have a better framerate, but the picture quality is not as good? Any alternatives?     - hotmail notification- ONLY inbox? Hi, I use Hotmail and Trillian. My Hotmail account is set to filter all mail from one particular contact into a specific folder, but I've noticed that I only recieve mail notification on emails that arrive in my inbox.     - msn messenger sign-in click does nothing??? This morning MSN Messenger 6.1 crashed on my system. WHen I tried restarting it, it starts (though slowly) and does not log in automatically. When I click Sign In... absolutely nothing happens. So Sign In screen, nothing. It just sits there. My Passport account is fine. THat seems to be part of the problem.     - Why can't I change my display name in version 6.1? Hey, I'm looking for some help. I can't change my display name in version 6.1 running on XP. Whenever I send a message my entire email address is displayed. The help file says you go to personal settings and you can change it there. But when I do I see my display name is my entire email address but it is grayed out. Clicking on it does nothing. This field is blank until I sign in.     - Messenger Appears On to Others I have become aware that I appear on line with MSN Messenger even though, according to everything on my computer, I am not.
