    - MSN Messenger 6.0 HELP!!! I am using video and voice with MSN 6.0. I can get audio to work each way. I can get video to work each way. But when I try to hook up with both audio and video, my daughter can hear me and see me, but I can only see her. the audio does not come back from her to me. Any ideas on what is happening?     - Can't sign into Windows/MSN Messenger I've been unable to sign into Windows Messenger for the past 21 hours. This is the message I recieve when I attempt to do so: "Signing into .NET Messenger Service failed because the password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist. If you have forgotten your password, click Help in the main window, and then click Help Topics." Whenever I attempt to sign into Passport at http://www.passport.net, I receive this message: "Sign-in Temporarily Blocked You have made too many unsuccessful sign-in attempts with an incorrect password for: xxxxxxxx@msn.com Microsoft .NET Passport has made your account temporarily unavailable to help prevent other users from guessing or obtaining your password." The Passport I use to log into Messenger is an old (and defunct for over 3 years) MSN address that has no other use, but it's never given me a problem until yesterday.     - MSN Messenger Version I am having problems with Messenger. I have two versions on my computer for some reason, 4.6 and 5.0. When I use MSN Explorer, version 5.0 starts. When I use Internet Explorer, version 4.6 starts. I thought it might be the version of IE Explorer so I downloaded version 6 SP-1 and installed, same problem. Any ideas?     - MSN pop-up window Hi. I have a friend I'm trying to help who has an MSN problem. There is this pop-up window that opens automatically whenever she opens outlook express. This window is advertising software that pertains to security in MSN! I deleted the cookies from both "internet options" and from C:\documents and settings. I did an ad-aware scan and a virus scan. None of this helped. The security settings in I.E. are set to medium. This pop-up window occurs very frequently and annoyingly.     - One sided voice communication I have a strange issue with messenger. Both my friend and I have xp home and version 4.7 of messenger. We can establish a connection for voice communication. He can hear me but I can not hear him. We've checked all the sound settings. You have a Mic meter and a speaker meter on the right hand side of the messenger tool. On his he can see his voice register register on the mic. I can't see it on my speaker meter. Sound works for all of my other programs. We tried different port settings. What is really fustrating is that origianally the voice comunnication worked. We can't seem to find what had changed. I am really grasping for anything now.     - cannot sign into messenger I was on this morning and signed into windows messenger successfully. Now i cannot sign into messenger using my own passport, but my sister can sign in using hers. I have not changed my password and I am typing everything in correctly. I am still able to sign into my hotmail accounts however. This is the second time this has happened to me. I tried the first time to research and cure the problem, but it isn't a problem on my end. I ended up getting a new passport and email address, but this is a major hassel, as each time i have to redo all my contacts. Can anybody tell me what is going on?     - Camera Doesn't Start in MSN Messenger 6.0 Preview After installing Messenger 6.0 and successfully running the tuning wizard, anytime I try to start the camera, no matter how I try to do so, my camera never starts; the ON light does not display and the image on my screen where, I believe, the camera should show me until connected, is solid black.     - Cannot delete names from "my block list" There are a few names in my Messenger's Block List (Tools > Options > Privacy) which I have idea no how they got there in the first place. I managed to delete some of the names by left-clicking on them, but there are two or three names where the Delete option in the small menu that pops up is blanked out. In other words, I am unable to delete these names. Can someone enlighten me what is going on here? How did the names get onto the Block list and how can I get rid of them?     - can't sign in to v6 ok....I downloaded the new version 6.028 - hoping that it would help solve the NO VOICE problem (always get conncted, can hear for a sec then it freezes up and I get the fatal blue screen) - so downloaded, rebooted - got in easily and hooked up with my dad in KS (I'm in MO) and he could hear me - I could hear him and then it locked up again and froze up my computer - rebooted - but no fatal blue screen this time - after rebooting, tried to sign back in - no luck - says service is busy - what's the problem???? what's strange is that I have no problem with mike on hearing and speaking on paltalk??? can anyone out there help???     - I cannot send files... no matter how hard i try no matter what i do, i cannot send a single file. I can send files to ither user log into users on my through messenger but I cannot send them to any user on the internet. I can recieve files just fine.     - File Transfer Msn 6.0 Someone may have highlighted this before but when sending a file in Msn 6.0 the transfer progress bar stays as part of the conversation rather than being displayed at the bottom of the conversation window. This is quite annoying as you have to keep scrolling up the conversation text to see how the transfer is doing. Why oh why Did they change something that was happy where it was.     - Dragging and dropping contact information from Messenger Hello. I am developing an application, and I would like to add support for dragging contacts from MSN Messenger into my app. Now, Messenger does support drag and drop, in the sense that my app receives DragEnter and DragDrop events when I drag a contact to it. The problem is, Messenger doesn't actually associate any data with these events - in C# terms, e.Data.GetFormats() returns an array of length 0. So even though drag 'n drop capabilities exist, there appears to be no direct way of using it. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for alternative ways of doing this. I had a look through the Messenger APIs, and the only one that looks like it could be of any use, DMsgrObjectEvents::OnUserDropped, is listed as 'Not currently supported' by MSDN (and it might not even be talking about the same kind of 'drop', anyway). Is there a way of programmatically acquiring information about the currently selected contact, or some other method I might use? Why does Messenger support drag and drop at all, if there's no way to actually make use of it? As an aside, are there any programming-specific Messenger groups that I should post this to?     - Firewall Issue ? Hi, I have a problem getting instant messages going through with Messenger 4.7 runing on Xp Pro. I have a little Lan at home. Here is what I am doing. With 2 different computers on this lan, sharing the same adsl connexion, I connect with 2 different accounts using each their own passport. For some reasons, some messages go through, some don't and I haven't been able so far to find out why ? I am running Winroute 5.0.4 as a firewall and I activated Upnp. versions of MSN on my Outlook Express. I'm wondering what
