More and more it happens the my MSN Messenger (7.5.0311) says that I am
Online .... when I start a conversation then, people are surprised because
they see me Offline. They can answer me and everything, yet my status for
them stays Offline? Restarting either client solves the prob but this
happens more and more??

Greetings Menno,

It's happening to me too. You can try upgrading to 7.5.0322 but I doubt it will change
anything:
http://g.msn.com/7MEEN_US/EN_0322/INSTALL_MSN_MESSENGER_DL.EXE

Signing into Windows Messenger however generally can help "refresh" things, due to how the
Messenger servers have to refresh your data in order to sign in.

Windows Messenger? I rather not use that anymore cause it's haunting my
system again then. But all this behaviour just started suddenly 2 days ago
and what I did read in this mewsgroup and some forums I am not the only one
that suddenly has these problems.

Hello Folks

I did a few tests and this actully worked for me. This is what I have
tried :

1)Sign in as you do normally
2)After you are logged in at the system, force one disconnection. I mean,
remove the network cable from your computer
3) you will see that your MSN will show a disconnection error and it will
show a clock saying that it will try a new connection in x minutes.
luckyzeus2000@yahoo.com diz:
4) after seeing this, just reconnect your network cable and wait until the
clock reaches 0. Do not try to reconnect yourself. Let the system goes as
expected.
5) after the system reconnects, your status should get back to normal.

I suppose that MSN should keep some kind of buffer or whatever that is
touched only when the disconnection is fixed automatically. Other than that,
I suppose that t

Mmm ,I use Msn Messenger 7.5, about a month ago I decided to change my email
addy log in as it was redundent from over 12 months ago as i had changed ip
providers and wanted to finally bring my contact address when offline in msn
up to date

Since doing this, all seemed well, though as time went on i couldnt believe
that all my contacts, friends , family were never appearing as online. So i
called my son to check his msn and see if i was online evn with my status as
sowing online.
To him I hadnt appeared on in weeks. The same when questioning some other
friends.
So i mad a backup of my contacts, reinstalled msn, added all my contacts
back. The same problem. My son appeared online for a while, though i dont
appear online to him. He says that it appears to revert back to my old sign
in address.
So no matter how many times i request authorisation even if they do accept,
it reverts back to the old address and neither of us can see each other
online.
As for changing back to my oringinal addy, i cant do this, one becuase it
comes up as unavailable and two because it is no longer a valid email address
of mine being no longer with that provider.
Any suggestions please.

i'm having the same problem of being online but seen as offline. there are
times where i managed to get that real online status...but while talking to
ppl, i'd just suddenly go "offline" in their window. furthermore, sometimes
the other party is unable to send msgs to be, their msgs rejected cos i was
"offline". another surprising things... even when i log on thru the web-based
msn messenger... the offline problem still exist! it's really annoying me and
to those trying to get in touch me... and from the looks of it, i'm sure
there are many others out there having the same problem. whatever it is... i
really any help asap.
