Offline but online??

Ok, firsttimer for me: I see contacts as Offline yet they are Online and I
can talk to them? I was talking to them and they suddenly there were Offline
according to MSN Messenger but with the contact window open we could keep on
talking. When I close the contact window, they are Offline in my list and I
can not contact them even while they are Online???
What's going on???

Greetings Menno,

Although there's some long-term issues with this, there's some major server desync today and
this is happening to a lot of people (including me).

I've had this issue periodically as well (only I'm the one thats appearing
offline to everyone else) although it seems to be fixed for the most part on
my end. Numerous reinstallations of MSN Messenger 7.5.0324 didn't resolve it
so I'm imagining its something on their end.

I contacted MSN Messenger support about it,
http://support.msn.com/default.aspx?productkey=messenger&page=support_home_options,
maybe you should do the same.

If anyone has any other information on this issue, it would be greatly
appreciated.
