    - How do delete unwanted IDs from Windows Messenger? How do I delete unwanted user IDs from Windows Live Messenger? I've recently had a crash and had to reinstall everything. But when it came time to resurrect my WLM I'd forgotten my ID and password. I still haven't resolved that yet but I'm still hacking. In the meantime I have ALL these IDs that aren't mine.     - Msn Messenger 8.5 Application Hangs Hi just need some guidance on an small issue. I am currently using msn messenger live 8.5.1302.1018. The issue I'm having is in regards to one particular contact on my list. As of recent everytime i go to engage an IM with that contact it cause my msn to hang. The only option left is to ctrl-alt-del to manually shut down the program. When I restart msn again it works with no issues I can IM anyone either online or offline with msn except with this one contact. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling messenger live but with no results. I have a notebook with messenger 8.1 installed and I do not have this issue with this contact. I was wondering if someone can provide some assistance on this matter as it is extremely annoying not being able to IM this contact for example as this person is someone I contact on a frequent basis.     - messenger doesn't work on a PC with office-LAN Hi all, I used msn messenger 7.0 on a PC with Windows 2000 professional working in a LAN of a big company. Now they changed my PC and, even if the windows is the same, messenger doesn't work when I re-installed it. I starts, try to connect and then blocks itself (freezes) and I'm obliged to close it from icon near the clock. Can anyone suggest me what can be happened?     - WLM 8.1 would not start I have Window Live Messenger v.8.1 installed on my WinXP machine. Sometimes it could be started, the other times it won't start... Clicking on its icon produces an hourglass for a brief moment, but nothing else happens. In checking the processes running, I see the msnmsgr.exe running as many times as I clicked on the icon. I was told that it's a connection problem. Resetting a router solves the problem, but soon the problem comes back. May someone help me to solve this problem?     - Windows Live Messenger Webcam I have a Microsoft NX-3000 webcam on a laptop with Vista Premium. Webcam works fine locally. I installed Windows Live Messenger. I can exchange instant messages with my son who is using Yahoo on an XP Home SP2 system, but I can't show him my webcam. In Windows Live Messenger, when I try to use ACTIONS/VIDEO/SHOW YOUR WEBCAM I get a message saying None of your contacts are available to receive your webcam. There is also a message at the top of the IM screen saying "Some features may not be available in this conversation" Tried disabling firewalls on both sides, no help.     - How to delete entries from my Allow List Probably a dumb question but i'm a novice user. I have looked for the answer in the program's help section but to no avail. So there are contacts that I have deleted from my Contact List, but they still show up on my Allow List under privacy settings. How do I delete these entries?     - Windows Firewall Client and Vista I have an issue whereby I log onto my local PC, and then use the Windows Firewall Client (ISA Client) to connect to my domain. This works fine in XP but had a compatibility issue with Vista. I downloaded the latest client for Vista, which does recognise the connection, but as soon as I try and log into messenger, the ISA Client has a problem and does not connect.     - MSN Live Messenger logging in and out all the time Got a new computer in January installed with Vista. Since I got it, my MSN login keeps sending out "I'm online - sending "Tanny" is online" to my contacts about 50 times a day.     - Can't change from "off-line" status My status ( seems i'm not the only one ) can't be changed from "off-line".     - The end of Messenger 6.2? Well, it seems so. My 6.2.0208 running on my older installation (Win2K SP4, IE 5.5 SP2) was bog-stable (and still shows my web cam without problems, so it is just purpose they blocked the older release - typical MS hype & boogaloo!!) Now I get the common message that I MUST upgrade to sign in at all. I was a bit pissed off and very tempted to softICE the thing! Because... Messenger 7.0 IS allowed (thank goodness), but this means I have to upgrade my bog-stable IE5.5 SP2 (which also runs XMLHttp stuff perfectly, no matter how "ancient" it is) to IE6 which I do not want.     - LifeCam Picture has flickering "lines" in picture Hello everyone, I'm using my LifeCam VX-3000 with its bundled software. It's updated to v1.3, the latest one, but I've had this problem since I began using the camera. When I preview my picture in the software the video preview has many flickering, horizontal lines in the picture which distort the color. Adjusting the focus doesn't help, and the camera is plugged into the fastest USB port available on my computer (It's only about a year old so I know the ports are fast enough). I even tried increasing the USB bandwidth in the picture settings in the software; the highest it can go for me is 5, and the automatic setting puts it at 4. This does not resolve the problem either. I doubt the product is defective, it's been like this since I bought it and the packaging looked solid when we bought it. Can anyone shed some light on how I can fix this problem? Thank you!     - Spyware on the increase again Just a passing comment because I got a couple of these this morning and now I am grumpy LOL ... This is on the increase again ... Malicious spyware, pretending to be a social networking site or similar, cons people into using their Messenger login (or Yahoo, etc) and password to "log in" by sending a message or email purportedly from a contact. The site then appears to use the fraudulently obtained log in details to get into the user's account and send all their contacts emails or messages. I really don't know why otherwise intelligent people would hand over their log in details to another web site, but I wish Microsoft could come up with a way to block this activity. Not having a go at Microsoft because I know it is a tricky problem to solve, just wondering if anything can be done.     - MSN virus Dear Sir/Mdm, Recently i encountered a serious problem. I recieved a message send by one of my contacts from MSN that stated "is that you in the picture" followed by an URL and I clicked on the link without knowing what it was. It then prompt me to run or save a file, hence I close it without running or saving it thinking that it is probably so spyware. There after, everytime when I start up my desktop, the same msg kept appearing and i just ignore and close the msg box. This took place over a few days. But the last time when I close the msg box, about 10 mins later, the system shut down by itself. When i tried to reboot it, error msg appeared in the blue screen and I chose to run in safe mode, but the error kept repeating like a cycle. When going to the Options - Sharing Folders, both the listboxes that should show contacts Remove and Add are greyed out and show none of my contacts. The icon for "My Sharing Folders" as seen in the explorer window My Computer has its icon missing. Double clicking on this does nothing (actually returns focus to the previous folder). I have looked at "C:\Documents and Settings\*login*\Local Settings \Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\*mymessengeremailaccount* \Sharing Folders" and there is nothing below there. Can anyone help. I had it working at one stage, then it stopped. Where should i look in the registry perhaps to fix the shortcut, which then hopefully fixes Messenger. Cheers, Shane. Tag: Mobile Device Tag: 91845

    - always ask for e-mail address and password After I open Live Messenger and then click to sign in to my e-mail the window comes up and shows "Save my e-mail address" as being checked. Every time I check the "always ask for e-mail address and password" it still shows up with my e-mail address already in the box every time I go to open my e-mail.     - Windows Live Hotmail All of a sudden I can no longer access my Windows Live Hotmail through Windows Live Messenger. When I click the mail icon in Messenger, I only get the hour glass with no error codes and the sign in window no longer appears. I have tried closing messenger, restarting computer and that doesn't work. I have Windows Live Messenger Version 2008 (Build 8.5.1302.1018). I am running Windows XP operating system. I have one contact in MSN that has a mobile device contact next to it,
however there's no number attached to it.

I have tried to add a number, then remove it, I've tried to change the
country code etc but nothing allows me to reset it and no mobile device
option for that user.

It's no big deal of course it's just one of those grrrr things :)

Any ideas guys?
