The Messenger version 6.0 comes up with the error "Messenger has
encountered a problem and needs to close" running IE6.0 on a win98
system....updates seem to be all done too, but looking for a hopefully
better and faster fix to it.....any availiable yet on that?

Messenger 6.0 won't run after installing correctly...need fix by Marika

So far I have removed all msn messenger products including
plus, rebooted with minimal startup programs, disabled
Norton, reinstalled IE6 over the old one, rebooted,
downloaded msn6 from microsoft, ran setup9x.exe and SAME
PROBLEM. Then, I deleted the msn messenger registry key,
restarted messenger, same problem, robooted, same
problem. This time, when it came up with Messenger error
reporting screen, I clicked on "Debug" and this came up:

msnmsgr has performed an illegal operation - when I
clicked on "details" I got: MSNMSGR caused an invalid
page fault in
module MSNMSGR.EXE at 017f:0064ed0e.

Does this help?

Nope, no solve here yet...i'm thinking that there must be another program
missing or a setting thats not being done when it's re-installed...something
along those lines.
