Messenger whiteboard with Linksys BEFSR41

I have an XP machine running MSN Messenger 6 behind a BEFSR41 router (
updated to 1.45.7, Jul 31, 2003 firmware ) . But I was not able to set it
up to share whiteboard with my friend. I spent hours reading postings on the
internet and just got myself more confused.

In the router config I set up port forwarding for 6891-6900, 1503, 3389,
5060, 1863. But it still does not work.

Since I am inviting a whiteboard session, my friend does not need to open
any ports, is that true? If so, any other suggestions?

That is not true. You both need the ports open that use whiteboard, regardless who sends the invite.
