Thank you so much for your response. I have linked to the website you
provided, then downloaded and installed MSN Messenger 7.0. It automatically
replaced version 6.1 , which I still had on my PC. I had just replaced my
old PC with a new PC during the past 2 days and downloaded MSN to it (which
included MSN Messenger 6.1 from the Qwest ISP website). Now that MSN
Messenger 7.0 is installed, I no longer get the prompt to install a newer
version that previously caused the error.
However, I meanwhile had also previously downloaded "Windows Messenger" and
found it also works but it advises installing Windows Live, which I do not
want to do now that I have MSN Messenger 7.0 that is working properly.
Thanks again!
